Great summary of the Fire god of the sea MANANNAN/MANAWYDAN
Not only did the Proto-Indo-Europeans have an Absolute (Breoghan = Brahman), but it seems that they may have had a thorough mythos of "his" personification as well. All the way back in 3000 BCE.

Or else how do you explain Trefuilngid Tre-eochair?

The Birdlike: Enda and the Nature of the Celtic Absolute

The Birdlike, Part 2

Why is the Celtic Absolute “Birdlike”?

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=6SJqtS7HjX4
The clearest names of the Celtic Absolute, which I have uncovered as an indispensable step in understanding what Celtic Paganism was historically, and how we should practice it:

Breoghan (The Powerful/Exalted)

Enda (The Birdlike)

Tat (Papa)

Trefuilngid Tre-ochair (Triple Supporter Triple Edged)

Dyfnwal Moelmud (The Silent Bald World King)/
Domnall Mildemail (The Warlike World King)

Tabairn is the name of the Ocean on the level of the Absolute, in that way comparable to the Nun or the Indefinite Dyad.

The Celts were veritably overflowing with an appreciation for the Absolute, as well as an ambition to embody its “Birdlike” nature whenever they wore the bird cloak (tuigen) of the seer.

I'll be having a Q & A livestream on the Deity Chart starting in about 15 minutes

You could do Norse paganism if you didn’t know Odin existed, or Platonism if you didn’t know of the One, but you wouldn’t quite know what you were doing.
You could give the gods their due offerings, but you would be miles away from a proper orientation within the larger system.

In the same way, if you don’t know who Fintan/Finn is or who Trefuilngid/Breoghan is, you can give the gods their offerings, contact them. You can do Celtic Paganism. But you don't fully know what you're doing, you don’t know whose house you are in.

This is the tragedy of the superficiality with which Celtic myth has been read. The material is all there, Fintan receives the divisions and seeds of Ireland from Trefuilngid for all to see, but the average Celtic pagan treats Finn and Trefuilngid/Breoghan as if they can be set aside, thereby setting aside the founding Intellect and sovereign Power that are the engine and axis of the tradition.

This neglect of the fundamental ruling deities will obviously be the hamstringing of the potential of Celtic paganism as long as it continues, and is one of the main reasons Celtic paganism seems to lack reality to outside observers.

We Celts should be proud. We know of the Birdlike, nor did we forget.

Praise Fionn, may he lift our spirits to the Birdlike (Enda).
