Met a lot of cool people today and even learned more about UzCosmos πŸ”₯
Great vibes, great energy ⚑

So many people with interesting stories, some want to level up their hard skills, others just want to learn how to negotiate a better salary, and everyone has their own journey πŸ’Ό

Who knows, someday I might even start personally helping people with salary negotiations.
We’ll see πŸ˜‰

#recap

My year-end recap
.
2025 has been one of the most intense and successful years of my life πŸ”₯

Here’s what happened this year:

- Participated in 100+ developer meetups πŸ‘₯
- Worked with IBM and used their Watson X AI platform
- Joined 4 hackathons and won 1st place twice πŸ₯‡
- Received the highest offer from a Korean company πŸ’° (120mln KRW), and rejected it 🚫
- Switched to 100% remote work πŸ’Ό
- Moved into a new 140+㎑ apartment
- Took 17 international flights ✈️
- Got promoted within 6 months at Salmon πŸš€
- Switched from Kia K5 to Genesis G80 πŸš—
- Got married (most importantly 😁)
- Gave 6 interviews in Uzbek πŸ“±
- Presented twice at the Embassy of Uzbekistan
- Met hundreds of talented/successful people 🀝
- Grew my annual income to 150mln+ KRW πŸ’²
- Won the Incheon Startup Challenge πŸ†
- Co-founded a medical AI startup
- Pitched to VCs for the first time (and learned a huge amount of new things along the way) πŸ“š
- Started mentoring students at Habsida
- and more smaller stuff like witnessing Hans Zimmer’s work/music in real life, Ludovico Einaudi, attending πŸ“±TEDx, etc.

I achieved things I didn’t even imagine a year ago, and I’m truly grateful to my friends, family, and network for all the support πŸ™Œ

For the first time ever, I’m ending the year with zero unfinished goals on my list.

Definitely, I’m a bit tired now, so I want a short break. Yet, thinking about everything I accomplished makes me excited for what’s coming next.

More cool stuff coming soon πŸš€

Code freeze ❄️

One interesting thing about product companies is code freeze.

In my current company, code freeze starts this week and lasts until January.
During this period, we don’t push any code to production β›”οΈπŸ’»

The end of the year is the most profitable time. People spend more money, and banks (and other businesses) don’t want to risk losing revenue because of bugs or changes.

So in December, 3 good things are happening at Salmon πŸš€

1. No work from December 24 till January 4 πŸŽ„
2. No code releases. Calm and stable life 🦦
3. December salary comes this week πŸ’Έ

Not bad 😁

This is also another good reason to improve your skills and aim for remote work.
Yes, finding a remote role is harder, but it’s very possible πŸ’ͺ

This is another topic for another post πŸ˜‰

Since it’s the end of the year, there are almost no Jira tasks at work, and I finally have more free time πŸ”₯

I went to the 2025 Global Scale-up Campus Performance Sharing & Year-End Networking Night in Incheon today πŸš€

Didn’t really network that much, but getting out of the house already felt refreshing πŸ‘

Recording videos for studentsπŸ”₯

I hate staying up late 😴
From my experience, it slowly leads to burnout.

But sometimes, it’s the price you pay for a better life.
I’m okay sacrificing a couple of years if I get 10Γ— in return πŸš€

Already have plans to fix my sleeping schedule…somewhere around April 2026 πŸ˜…πŸ˜΄
