Lone morning missile flying towards Kiev. Ukrainian sources are claiming it is the "Izdeliye-30", a brand-new subsonic air-launched cruise missile.

It is claimed to have an estimated range of at least 1,500km, a flight speed of 600-800 km/h and an 800kg warhead. To counter electronic warfare, it is fitted with jam-resistant satellite-signal receivers known as "Kometa-12M".

The Ukrainians assume that Izdeliye-30 is a simplified, cheaper version of the Kh-101 missile, intended for mass use by strategic missile carriers.

The Ukrainians also claim that ZALA Lancet drones with AI-guided "swarm control" were used in this unusual morning attack in Kiev. You can see colored markings on the published photos of the Lancet debris in Kiev; these are believed to be visual markers for the AI system that guides "drone swarms".

If it is true that both the brand-new Izdeliye-30 missile and a new Lancet "swarm" modification were used, this morning's attack was a field test for new technology that will be used in upcoming combined missile/drone strikes if it proves successful.

Also, the distance from the closest Russian positions to Kiev far exceeds the known maximum range for the Lancet, so the upgrades are not just in the software department.

What does Israel get from the Iran war? A prospect of their most powerful, arguably last remaining enemy being decimated by American hands. What the US gets out of it is another question.

It was never about the nuclear program. But it wasn't about regime change either. Trump clearly doesn't care about that, as Venezuela's socialist government still in power demonstrates.

The "imminent threat" framing is laughable goyslop, same as the tired mantras recycled from 47 years ago. Whatever the 47th president (wink wink) tried to achieve in the opening days of the war, he fell short, unless you consider killing a 90-year-old man and two hundred children a fair exchange for every US military base, greatest ally and vassal in the Middle East getting hit.

So what has actually been achieved? Iranians have de facto closed the Strait of Hormuz, and the slow domino collapse of the "global economy" has begun. China, the EU, India, US-aligned East Asian states all depend on Middle Eastern oil. They've already been largely cut off from Russian energy, mostly by US hands. Whether anyone in Washington planned this or simply stumbled into it, either way the consequences are the same: rival economies are being strangled, and eventually they will have to beg the US to turn the tap back on. Or at least, that's what the Trump admin secretly hopes for.

Trump meanwhile has "allowed" Russian oil and gas contracts until April and floated plans to "acquire Nord Stream", which they blew up. The logic of controlling the Strait eventually, and with it global energy supply, may well be present somewhere in the room. But it feels less like a master plan and more like someone connecting dots on a map they're drawing as they go, and that map is upside down.

The caveats are significant. US troops navigating Iran's mountainous terrain could make Iraq look quaint by comparison, and the 2003-level readiness and troop numbers are simply not there. Trump is hemorrhaging popularity domestically, Democrats will likely take the midterms, and the Gulf state vassals are furious they took hits on America's behalf.

The US depends on Taiwanese microchips that get more expensive in an energy crisis, which could halt the entire AI craze and drag the whole damn building with it. At this point, a full US withdrawal from the region isn't hard to imagine. If that were to happen, I truly feel for the Israelis biting their elbows while hiding in their mamads...

Either way, I'm rooting for Trump to send as many troops into Iran as possible. Should be a fun and easy ride to Tehran.
