๐ The "Indra" exercises are held every two years, with the latest taking place in 2023 in the Bay of Bengal with the participation of naval ships from both countries. This time, pilots showcased their skills over water: the crew of an Indian Navy helicopter landed on the deck of a Russian Navy ship. Russian pilots, in turn, practiced landing approaches on an Indian destroyer.

๐ฎ๐ณ On August 15, the Republic of India marks #IndependenceDay. #OTD in 1947 the Indian Independence Act came into being, crowning the decades of the Indian peopleโs hard struggle against the oppression of the British colonisers for the right to determine their own destiny.
Over the years of independence, the Indian nation has reached significant success in the economic, scientific, technical and social areas, preserving its strong identity based on the centuries-long history and rich cultural heritage.
India enjoys well-deserved authority in the world arena, playing a major constructive role in international affairs.
๐ค Diplomatic relations between our country and India were established on April 13, 1947. The USSR made a significant contribution to the industrialisation of India as well as to the development of its economic and scientific potential.
๐ท๐บ๐ฎ๐ณ The friendly Russian-Indian ties are based on equality, mutual respect and trust. Today, our relations can be defined as a special and privileged strategic partnership. We maintain an intensive political dialogue, and take efforts to strengthen cooperation within multilateral formats and improve trade, economic, investment, scientific, technical, cultural and humanitarian cooperation.
๐ We cordially congratulate our Indian friends on Independence Day and wish them prosperity and well-being.

๐ท๐บ๐ฎ๐ณ President of Russia Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister of the Republic of India Narendra Modi held talks on the sidelines of the XVI BRICS Summit (October 22, 2024):
๐ฌ President Vladimir Putin: Mr Prime Minister, friends,
I am delighted to welcome you to Russia, this time to Kazan, a magnificent historical city on the Volga.
I warmly remember your visit to Moscow and our fruitful talks back in July. We regularly speak on the telephone. I am grateful that you accepted our invitation and came to the #BRICS Summit in Kazan in person.
Today we will take part in the opening ceremony of the summit. Later, there will be a dinner for the leaders, and then we will begin our work.
Here in Kazan, we are to make a number of important decisions to enhance the efficiency of efforts made by BRICS and to strengthen multilateral cooperation within the group. We value our cooperation on this track, considering that our nations were instrumental in founding BRICS.
๐ค Russian-Indian relations are characterised by a special privileged strategic partnership and continue to develop actively. Interaction between legislative bodies is strengthening, and our foreign ministers are in constant contact.
๐ Trade is also in good shape. The next meeting of the intergovernmental commission is scheduled for November 12 in New Delhi.
Large projects are consistently developing, and we welcome your decision to open a Consulate General of India in Kazan. Expanding Indiaโs diplomatic presence in Russia will contribute to the further development of bilateral relations.
Mr Prime Minister, we are very glad to see you and your entire representative team in Russia.
