A Russian-Indian exhibition dedicated to the creative ties of the Roerich family with India has opened at the Russian House in New Delhi. The exhibition is a joint initiative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Culture of Russia, dedicated to the upcoming 150th anniversary of N.K. Roerich and the 120th anniversary of the birth of S.N. Roerich, and is held under the auspices of the “Digital Museum” (G20 Digital Museum), the flagship cultural and educational project of New Delhi's G20 presidency. Exhibition materials were prepared by the State Museum of Oriental Art.

The opening ceremony was attended by Russian Ambassador Denis Alipov and India's G20 Sherpa Amitabh Kant, who addressed the participants with welcoming remarks. During the evening, a pre-recorded speech by the Russian Sherpa at this leading international economic forum, Svetlana Lukash, was also shown.

In the Nizhny Novgorod region of Russia there is Lake Svetloyar, in which, according to legend, the mythical Kitezh city hid. In India, there is a similar legend about the city of Krishna, Dwarka, which plunged into the depths of the sea.
Russian and Indian artists - Maxim Pridanov and Aakshat Sinha - traveled to Svetloyar, lived and painted there. The Russian painter and thinker Nicholas Roerich also worked on this topic, creating the painting “The Battle of Kerzhenets.”
On October 13 at 16:00, the exhibition “Fabulous Miracle of Existence” opens in the Russian House, dedicated to the legends of Russia and India (Kitezh and Dwarka that sank under water, others), and the Year of the Roerichs, which will be celebrated in 2024.
Maxim Pridanov is a member of the Union of Artists of Russia and the International Federation of Artists.
15 artists are participating from the Indian side.

The International Roerich Memorial Trust organizes the Indian-Russian cultural festival “The Roerichs: The Indian Way”.
It is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the arrival of the Roerich family in India and the 95th anniversary of their arrival in Kullu.
The festival will take place on October 5-22 at the Roerich Estate in Naggar, Kullu.

On March 22, at 18:30 at the Russian House in New Delhi the opening of the exhibition of the International Centre of the Roerichs "The Master's Universe" will take place. It is dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding Russian artist, thinker and public figure Nikolas Roerich (1874–1947).
Co-organizers of the exhibition: the Russian House in the Republic of India, the National Centre of Public Diplomacy for the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Russia, the International Roerich Memorial Trust with the support of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Republic of India and the International Union of Non-Governmental Organizations the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly.
The exhibition presents 174 photographs from the Roerichs' archive, several dozens of banners reflecting the main milestones of Nikolas Roerich's creative path, more than 20 reproductions of his paintings on canvas.

As part of the exhibition “The Universe of the Master”, a round table was held at the Russian House in New Delhi, dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the birth of the great Russian artist, thinker, traveler and public figure Nicholas Roerich.
The forum was organized by the International Center of the Roerichs, the Russian Embassy in India, the Russian House, the Indian Association of Teachers of Russian Language and Literature, the National Center for Public Diplomacy of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Russia, the International Union of Non-Governmental Organizations and the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly.
At the round table, two Indians were awarded Pushkin Medals for their services in the field of education and active work in popularizing the Russian language and literature - Dr. Pankaj Malviya and Prof. Amar Basu.

Prof Narayan noted that the book reveals the hybrid identity of Roerich, who, while maintaining ties with his national culture, turns out to be open to other languages ​ and cultures. The book, which includes translation into Hindi and English, speaks to the reader in a language close to him, and, at the same time, in a universal language.With the support of Rossotrudnichestvo in India, the presentation of the book will also take place in the near future in Russian houses in Chennai and Kolkata.

The event was attended by the director of the St. Petersburg State Museum-Institute of the Roerich Family, president of the International Charitable Foundation "Roerich Heritage" Mr Aleksei Bondarenko, director of the House-Museum of the Roerich Family from Ulaanbaatar (Mongolia) Dr Yanjmaa Biraa, chairman of the St. Petersburg branch of the National Roerich Committee, member of the Governing Council of the International Roerich Memorial Trust (Kullu, Himachal Pradesh, India) Mr Mikhail Chiriatev, national lecturer of the Indian Section of the Theosophical Society Ms V. Saxena, teachers of the Russian language Prof. Ranjana Saxena, Prof. Meeta Narain, Dr. Suman Beniwal, artist Mr. Akshat Sinha. The participants of the discussion discussed the importance of the artistic and philosophical heritage of N.K. Roerich for the modern cultural development of Russia and India, the spiritual and moral improvement of man. They noted the contribution of the artist and his family to the establishment of closer ties between our countries.

With the support of the Representative Office of Rossotrudnichestvo in India, famous Altai artists held a thematic master class "Altai-Himalayas" for Indian students.
The cultural and educational trip was organized within the framework of Russian-Indian international cooperation and the 150th anniversary of Nicholas Roerich.
The cultural delegation included the director of the "State Museum of the History of Literature, Art and Culture of Altai" Dr Igor Korotkov, candidate of art sciences Mrs Anna Lebedeva, artists Mr Vasily Kuksa, Mr Pirgeldi Shirov and Mrs Olga Popova. Students of the “Delhi collage of Art” took part in the master class.
The children were shown how to paint a realistic life drawing and were given lectures.
"The artists worked in different techniques and genres. Their task was to speak the language of art with Indian students based on the Russian school of painting and through the contribution of Nicholas Konstantinovich Roerich.
Representatives from Russia noted that Roerich is relevant, and thanks to his cultural heritage, the theme of kind, eternal and profound art continues.
