🎄 Ballet on ice captures spectators in St.Petersburg
Free open-air performances began on Elagin Island in St. Petersburg. The only one of its kind, the State Ice Ballet of Saint Petersburg presented the ballet performance “The Nutcracker” to the audience.
After the show, spectators were able to plunge into the fabulous atmosphere of the upcoming holidays on the ice-skating rink.

210 years ago, the Imperial Public Library was opened for readers in St.Petersburg
It was established in 1795 by Catherine the Great. The library was to be opened for the public in 1812 but, as the more valuable collections had to be evacuated because of Napoleon's invasion, the inauguration was postponed for two years, until 14 January 1814.

🌟 On June 28, 2024, a grandiose #ScarletSails celebration took place in St.Petersburg. The festival is held annually in honor of the school graduates.
📝 The first to see the ceremonial passage of ships along the Neva were graduates of 1968. That evening, a squadron of boats appeared from under the Kirov Bridge, which moved in a ceremonial formation and opened the festive event. There were three graduates on the admiral's boat "Leningrad" who opened the celebration.
The tradition was interrupted at the turn of the 1990s and was resumed only in 2005.

➡️ On September 11, the St. Petersburg International Forum of United Cultures kicked off in the northern capital of Russia. This year, the main theme was “Culture of the 21st Century: Sovereignty or Globalism?”
The program includes 10 thematic sections: “Theater”, “Cinema”, “Museums”, “Circus”, “Business Culture”, “Media Culture”, “Musical Culture”, “Right to Heritage in a Multipolar World”, “Artificial Intelligence in Culture and National Sovereignty”, “Cultural Heritage: Traditions and Modernity”.
🔍 Participants will also be able to attend more than 250 different events, such as: circus arts festivals, BRICS cultures, as well as concerts with artists from different countries.
The St. Petersburg International Forum of United Cultures is the largest cultural event with international participation. In recent years, it has become a platform for discussing the most pressing ideological issues, as well as intercultural cooperation.

President Vladimir Putin spoke at the BRICS United Cultures Forum
Protection of traditional values is one of the main priorities of Russia
“In Russia, we have decided on the main values for us, fixed them in the Basic Law of the country, in the Constitution. We defend these values and all those who share them, who, like us, consider the sacred right of people to speak their native language and keep the faith of their fathers, to live in harmony with nature, according to its natural laws”.
This was stated by Vladimir V. Putin at the plenary session of the International Forum of United Cultures in St. Petersburg. The President stressed the importance of humanism, dialogue, mutual respect and trust in the world. These principles should be unshakeable and shared by the international community.
“Culture has always played the role of a kind of fuse for the world. However, in a number of countries, this fuse seems to be out of order. Many modern high-ranking politicians have lost their moral guidelines and violate taboos that persisted even in the most tense moments of the Cold War”, the Head of state noted.
It was about constant interaction and mutual enrichment in the field of culture. Vladimir V. Putin focused on the powerful creative force that lies in the unity of different cultures and traditions.
“Your creative, scientific, educational activities have enormous potential for peacemaking and countering discord. They preserve the bonds between people, are able to heal the wounds caused by conflicts and wars. Therefore, it is important that you have the opportunity to communicate, exchange ideas and implement joint projects”, the Russian leader noted.
In recent years, the St. Petersburg International Forum of United Cultures has become a platform for discussing the most pressing worldview issues, as well as large-scale cooperation.

Об этом сказал Владимир Владимирович Путин на пленарном заседании Международного форума объединенных культур в Санкт-Петербурге.
Президент подчеркнул значимость гуманизма, диалога, взаимного уважения и доверия в мире. Эти принципы должны быть незыблемыми и разделяться мировым сообществом.
«Культура всегда играла роль своеобразного предохранителя для мира. Однако, в ряде стран этот предохранитель, кажется, вышел из строя. Многие современные политики высокого ранга утратили нравственные ориентиры и нарушают табу, которые сохранялись даже в самые напряженные моменты Холодной войны», — отметил глава государства.
Речь шла и о постоянном взаимодействии, и взаимообогащении в области культуры. В.В. Путин акцентировал внимание на мощной созидательной силе, которая заложена в единстве разных культур и традиций.
«Ваша творческая, научная, просветительская деятельность обладает колоссальным потенциалом миротворчества и противодействия розни. Она сберегает связи между людьми, способна исцелять раны, которые наносят конфликты и войны. Поэтому важно, чтобы у вас была возможность общаться, обмениваться идеями и воплощать в жизнь совместные проекты», — отметил российский лидер.
