On February 27, the International educational event “Russian Dictation” will take place. It will be held as part of the Pushkin Anniversary Days.

The final stage of the Presidential Library Olympiad in history, social studies and Russian language will be held in March
On March 12–14, 2024, the final of the Presidential Library Olympiad for schoolchildren and students “Russia in the Electronic World” will take place. More than 500 people competed to qualify for the second round. In total, this year more than 2.5 thousand children from 66 regions of the Russian Federation and a number of foreign countries took part in the intellectual competition, including the first and second stages.
The “Russia in the Electronic World” Olympiad is held by the Presidential Library and the National Research University Higher School of Economics.

Russian folk games gain popularity among Indian students
🥞 On 17 March Russianists of Vishva Bharati University, Shantiniketan travelled for over 2 hours to attend 'Maslenitsa in Kolkata' - a Russian spring festival - for folk games, study of cultiral beliefs reflected in rituals and, of course, for pancakes
🌊"The Stream" folk game has come down to us almost unchanged. It is emotional, it creates a chearful mood. The rules are simple. The players stand one after another in pairs, join hands and hold them high above their heads. The clasped hands create a long corridor.
The player who did not get a pair goes to the “source” of the stream and, passing under clasped hands, takes out a pair. Holding hands, this new couple makes their way to the end of the corridor. And a lonely player goes to the beginning of the “stream” to chose a new pair. This is how the “stream” moves - the more participants, the more fun the game is.

🥞 17 марта студенты-русисты университета Вишва Бхарати (г.Шантиникетан) ехали более 2 часов, чтобы посетить Масленицу в Калькутте — русское празднование весны – ради народных игр, знакомства с верованиями людей, отраженными в обрядах и, конечно же, блинов.
🌊Народная игра «Ручеёк» дошла до нас практически в неизменном виде. Она эмоциональна, создает веселое настроение. Правила просты. Играющие становятся друг за другом парами, берутся за руки и держат их высоко над головой. Сцепленные руки образуют длинный коридор.
Игрок, не получивший пару, идет к «истоку» ручейка и, проходя под сцепленными руками, выбирает себе пару. Держась за руки, эта новая пара идет до конца коридора. И одинокий игрок идет к началу «потока». Так движется «ручеёк» — чем больше участников, тем веселее игра.

Russian-speaking children aged 10 to 17 years living abroad and foreign citizens studying Russian in any country in the world are invited to participate.
⚡️ Works are accepted in the format of stories, poems, fairy tales, short stories, novels, novellas on any topic. The works of young authors are evaluated by famous writers, translators and journalists.
As a result, the finalists will receive vouchers for a literary session in Kazan in November, and the winners will receive a tablet, a set of a small library and the main prize - a “Crystal Owl” figurine.

Day of Slavic Writing and Culture was marked in Kolkata
May, 24 is celebrated annually as the Day the Slavic Writing and Culture is celebrated to glorify the creators of Slavic writing - the Saints Cyril and Methodius.
Today, Russian House in Kolkata has held a session with students of the Russian language courses dedicated to this holiday. Alexey Idamkin, Consul General of Russia in Kolkata, attended the session.
Madhabi Bhattacharya, head of Institute of Russian language, and Sergey Shushin, vice-consul and director of the Russian House, addressed the students.
The presentation about the creation of Slavic writing, the history of the Russian language and its importance in the world was deliveredby the students.

Russia Day exhibition opened in Kolkata

Russian education ambassador visited the Russian House in Kolkata
On July 22, Madhaby Bhattacharya, head of the Institute of Russian language of the Russian House in Kolkata, held a meeting with Prof. Kandarpa Das, vice-chancellor of Girijanada Chowdhary University, Assam and ambassador for Russian education and science.
During the working visit, current situation with Russian language studies in India was discussed as well as perspectives for further education in Russia, including scholarship programs.

🇷🇺 Moscow awards winners of the XXIV International Alexander Pushkin Competition
239 works from 21 countries were submitted to the competition in 2024 - 50 teachers from 19 countries became laureates.
The award ceremony was attended by the Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for International Cultural Cooperation Mikhail Shvydkoi, the Minister of the Government of Moscow, the head of the Moscow City Department of the Russian Federation Sergey Cheremin, the Director of the Moscow City Department of the Russian Federation Dmitry Kozhaev.
Sergey Cheremin: "We are proud that you, teachers specializing in Russian, are raising children in the great traditions of Pushkin"
Russian as a language of interethnic communication allows Moscow to be one of the most competitive megacities in the world, the head of the Moscow City Department of the Russian Federation added.
Moscow is ready to continue to support Russian-language schools, the Director of the Moscow City Department of the Russian Federation Dmitry Kozhaev assured the laureates.
A rich program was prepared for the laureates: the experts discussed the situation of the Russian language in their countries during a round table, got acquainted with the Moscow education system, visited the Maly Theater and the main attractions of the capital.
Organizers - the Government of Moscow together with the Rossiyskaya Gazeta.

Русский как язык межнационального общения позволяет Москве быть одним из самых конкурентных мегаполисов мира, добавил руководитель ДВМС.
Москва готова и дальше оказывать поддержку русскоязычным школам, заверил лауреатов директор МДС Дмитрий Кожаев.
Для лауреатов была подготовлена насыщенная программа: специалисты обсудили положение русского языка в своих странах в ходе круглого стола, познакомились с системой московского образования, посетили Малый театр и главные достопримечательности столицы.
