The University International Sports Festival #EKAT2023 opened today in Yekaterinburg, Russia.
🇮🇳 India will be representated by 9 athletes from Wozsen University and Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture and Fine Arts University.
Athletes will compete in 14 sports: Badminton, 3x3 Basketball, Boxing, Volleyball, Judo, Futsal, Table Tennis, Swimming, Diving, Sambo, Wrestling, Tennis, Taekwondo, and Rhythmic Gymnastics.
Students from 36 countries gathered in Russia to participate in the festival, which will last from 19 to 31 August.

🇷🇺 National Flag Day in Russia is celebrated annually on August 22. The holiday appeared after the August putsch of 1991. On this day, the Supreme Soviet of the RSFSR issued a decree according to which the tricolor became the country's national flag - "a panel of equal horizontal white, azure and scarlet stripes."
It is believed that the tricolor first appeared in the country about 350 years ago. White, blue and red are important colors in the Russian heraldic tradition. Banners of these colors are often found on ancient icons and colored miniatures.
There is no official interpretation of the meaning of the colors of the Russian flag. However, there are several versions, of which the most popular is the following:
🤍 white - purity, peace, nobility;
💙 blue - spirituality, constancy;
❤️ red - strength and blood shed for the motherland.

Больше семидесяти лет XX века наша страна прожила под красным флагом, и именно с этим знаменем была выстрадана Победа в Великой Отечественной войне.
Все исторические флаги и символы России требуют уважения со стороны граждан, всех общественных сил, представителей власти, потому что они отражают непрерывность развития нашей нации и государственности.
Но, конечно же, у нас особое отношение к бело-сине-красному знамени – это наш официальный государственный флаг, который был утверждён в этом качестве Петром Великим.

The program also includes the family adventure film, The Adventures of Chuck and Huck, which is based on the story of the famous Soviet writer Arkady Gaidar; and the full-length cartoon My Sweet Monster.
