🇮🇳 #OTD, on December 14, we honor the legendary Raj Kapoor, a titan of Indian cinema whose charisma and artistry left an indelible mark on the hearts of millions. From his unforgettable performances to his pioneering vision, Raj Kapoor's legacy continues to inspire generations.

🎬 His films became the personification of Indian cinema and culture and their guide abroad. For his fellow citizens, Raj Kapoor became a symbol of the new, independent India, while his characters instilled hope and encouraged people to great achievements.

🤝 The infinitely talented actor and director was also dearly loved beyond the borders of his country. In the Soviet Union, he was adored and revered as the creator and the main star in the iconic "Awaara" and "Shree 420" movies, which became favorites for several generations of Soviet citizens. Raj Kapoor repeatedly visited the USSR, where he was always given a warm welcome at the highest level, and among the people he received a kind nickname — "Comrade Awaara".

🇷🇺 Today in Russia, Raj Kapoor is remembered as a great friend of our country, whose contribution to the development of bilateral cultural and humanitarian ties is truly colossal. For many, his name still remains the first association with India.
