It was here, at the Historical Museum, that an internship for election officials from countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America began on October 2. The location was not chosen by chance - the museum hosts the exhibition “The Right to Choose” about the various periods of the formation of Russian elected institutions.

During the week, participants in the New Generation program from Algeria, Bangladesh, Bolivia, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Guinea-Bissau, Cambodia, Malaysia, Mexico, Mongolia, Namibia, Nepal, Nicaragua, Sierra Leone, Tunisia, Uganda, Pakistan, Colombia and the United States will get acquainted with the Russian electoral system, traditional and new election technologies.

👀 On the first day of the course, representatives of the Russian Central Election Commission spoke about the compilation of voter lists and the criteria for registering candidates for elective positions. Foreign experts also voiced questions that interested them. For example, what is the risk for Russian voters of not showing up for elections and what is the maximum budget for holding elections in Russia?

🇷🇺 How are elections organized in the largest country in the world? What technologies help optimize this process? Young specialists from Asia, Africa and Latin America took a look inside the Russian electoral system. All of them came to Moscow under the New Generation program.

Employees of the Central Election Commission told foreigners about all stages of the election process in Russia, as well as about methods of combating “black technologies.” Participants learned how the automated Elections system makes the procedure faster and more transparent, what devices are used to quickly process ballots, and how Russians can vote remotely.

📊 In addition, foreign experts visited the headquarters of the leading parties in Russia. Representatives of the factions shared with the delegates how candidates are nominated for elections at different levels, what is included in the campaign and how to attract young people to their ranks.
