🇪🇬 The Russian Ocean Way round-the-world expedition is heading for Egypt
On May 2, the crew of the circumnavigation sailed into the Red Sea and headed for Egypt.
🌊 Earlier, the Russian Ocean Way vessel reached the east coast of Africa. The team stayed in Djibouti for 10 days to replenish provisions and fuel, and also to film video for a film about the expedition.
There, the researchers met with the Russian Ambassador to Djibouti, Mikhail Golovanov. The diplomat listened to the stories of travelers and spoke about the peculiarities of the country.

🇹🇷On the night of July 28, the crew of the round-the-world expedition left Sinop, Turkey, for the Black Sea and set course for Russia. It is planned that the head of the mission, Evgeny Kovalevsky, and captain Stanislav Berezkin will reach Anapa by July 31.
“The Black Sea is relatively benign. There was a head current at night. In the morning, the mainsail, staysail, and motor. The captain and I are not feeling well, but we have to go. For the early morning of Wednesday, July 31, the agent in Anapa orders the appropriate commissions for entering Russia: border guards, customs, sanitary control,” Berezkin shared.

An internship for leaders and specialists in the field of nature conservation from abroad has begun in the capital. It is being held as part of the "New Generation" program.
📌 Delegates have already visited the Headquarters of the Russian Geographical Society, where the official establishment of a major professional holiday - BRICS Geographer's Day - took place.
The main event was the speech of representatives from the countries of the association. Foreign specialists spoke about the latest trends and developments in the field of geography, including the prospects for joint projects.
"It was very interesting to come into contact with such artifacts as the first Atlas, which began to be compiled by decree of Peter I, books of the 18th century, and so on," said Aizhamal Asykpaeva, a delegate from Kyrgyzstan.

🌊 On September 2, the Honorary Consul of Russia in India began his journey along the route of Afanasy Nikitin
The starting point was Tver, namely the embankment of the famous Russian traveler. The head of the Russian House in Trivandrum, Ratish Nair, met with Senator of the Federation Council of Russia from the Tver Region Lyudmila Skakovskaya and Rector of Tver State University Sergei Smirnov.
“I am sure that this is a wonderful undertaking - repeating the path of the Tver merchant Afanasy Nikitin. This will help educational and outreach work, draw attention to the figure of the traveler, and strengthen the ties between our countries. I am sure that in our country, preserving and studying history is one of the most important areas of work,” the senator emphasized.
“Even in India, not everyone knows that Afanasy Nikitin is the first foreigner who arrived in our country for peaceful purposes. Friendly relations between India and Russia should be strengthened. This is also the goal of my mission. I am confident that a trip that follows the path of a Russian traveler will help show Russia as it is and open it up to foreigners without speculation and fakes,” said Ratish Nair.
💬 The meeting participants discussed the opening of Russian online educational courses in Russian in the Indian state of Karnataka, as well as other educational initiatives.

His route, like 555 years ago, will lie from Tver to Astrakhan along the Volga, then by car to Derbent and Azerbaijan, and then to Iran. Отправной точкой стала Тверь, а именно набережная знаменитого русского путешественника. Глава Русского дома в Тривандруме Ратиш Наир встретился с сенатором Совета Федерации России от Тверской области Людмилой Скаковской и ректором Тверского государственного университета Сергеем Смирновым.
«Я уверена, что это прекрасное начинание – повторение пути тверского купца Афанасия Никитина. Это поможет просветительской и образовательной работе, привлечёт внимание к фигуре путешественника, укрепит связи между нашими странами. Уверена, что в нашей стране сохранение истории и её изучение – одно из важнейших направлений работы», – подчеркнула сенатор.
«Даже в Индии не все знают, что Афанасий Никитин – это первый иностранец, который прибыл в нашу страну с мирными целями. Дружеские отношения Индии и России должны укрепляться. На это направлена и моя миссия. ⛪️ On September 3, Ratish Nair arrived in Kalyazin, where he visited the monastery mentioned in Afanasy Nikitin's book.
🟣 Next, Ratish Nair headed to Uglich, where he met with the city's mayor, Anatoliy Kuritsyn. The parties agreed to organize "Uglich Days" in Trivandrum in 2025.
🟣 On September 4, the Honorary Consul met with Vice-Governor Andrey Kolyadin in Yaroslavl, during which the parties agreed on Yaroslavl's participation in the Indian tourism fair.l, cooperation between planetariums in Yaroslavl and Kerala and joint projects between Russian and Indian schools.
🟣 The Honorary Consul also met with Yaroslavl Mayor Artem Molchanov: it was decided to hold an online call with the mayor of Anantapur (Andhra Pradesh) next week to establish cooperation.
