Scientists of Kazan Federal University have come up with a new way to extract viscous oil from great depths.
The idea of KFU scientists is to use intrastratal catalysts containing metal in combination with microwave radiation during the extraction of such oil. This will effectively reduce the viscosity of heavy oil.

Kazan Federal University invites foreign citizens, students of grades 10-11, to take part in the International Olympiads of KFU!
Winners and prize-winners of the Olympiad will receive quotas of Ministry Science and Higher Education for higher education at Kazan (Volga region) Federal University for the next academic year.
The Olympiad is held in Russian in the following disciplines: MATH, BIOLOGY, CHEMISTRY, PHYSICS, RUSSIAN LANGUAGE, ENGLISH LANGUAGE, LAW AND DESIGN.
Olympiad’s participation is free of charge.
STAGES OF OLYMPIADS:
• QUALIFICATION STAGE – December 2, 2024 – January 8, 2025 online (registration on the website https://abiturient.kpfu.ru/?p_lan=1 is required).
Winners and prize-winners of the qualification stage (up to 45% of the total number of participants in each discipline) will be invited to participate in the final stage.
• FINAL STAGE – March 3 – 9, 2025 offline (in person) at university partner’s facilities abroad or online with the use of distant educational technologies.

▶️ To participate in Olympiad you have to do the following:
1. Register! Fill in information about yourself, save your login and password to access your account.
❗️Registration closes on July 1 at 15:00 local time of India.
2. Find the letter from KFU on email address which you used during registration. You need to follow a link in the letter.
3. Click on the link, see a page with an Agreement between participants of electronic interaction. You must sign the agreement by ticking at the end of the page. Click “Сохранить”.
4. Click on the «Olympiad for the foreign citizens» tab in your account.
5. Carefully fill out the items in your account. Click «Сохранить изменения».
6. You are registered! We are waiting for you on July 2nd!
