📌 From 17 to 19 August, Ulan-Ude will host the international forum "Traditional Buddhism and the Challenges of Modernity". It is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the formation of the Russian Republic of Buryatia.
The purpose of the Forum is to offer a new platform for international dialogue and comprehensive discussion of the development of Buddhism, Buddhist culture, philosophy, and practice.
🌐 Buddhist religious, scientific and public organizations of Russia and foreign countries are invited to participate: Bangladesh, Vietnam, India, Cambodia, China, Laos, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, Thailand, Sri Lanka and others.
📣 The program includes discussion platforms "Buddhism in the system of international relations and challenges of the 21st century", "Buddhism and the state: ways for dialogue and cooperation in the modern world", "Buddhology in Russia and the world: traditions and innovations", "The state and prospects for the development of Buddhist education in Russia and the world", a round table "Traditional Oriental Medicine" and a conference "Pandito Khambo Lama Dashi Dorzho Etigelov's Phenomenon".

Buddhists from 15 countries have become participants in the international Buddhist forum, TASS reports.
They gathered in the capital of Buryatia, and were joined by representatives of Russian regions. The forum, which Ulan-Ude is hosting for the second time, started on Monday, August 12. Its main theme was “Traditional Buddhism and Modern Challenges.” The Buryatia authorities said that the largest delegations came from China and India. These are the largest countries where Buddhism is widespread.
