🏙 As part of the cultural program, the Indian delegation visited the historical and cultural landmarks of the Russian capital, including the Kremlin, Red Square, the Cathedral of Christ the Savior and the Victory Museum.
📎 During of the cultural exchange, schoolchildren from India also took part in the III International Children's Cultural Forum, where they performed a series of traditional Indian dances and musical pieces. Their performances became a vivid manifestation of Indian culture, highly appreciated by the audience.
📚 According to the Indian schoolchildren, thanks to the visit to Russia, they acquired a deeper understanding of the country and became more closely acquainted with Russian culture and traditions, as well as its rich centuries-old history.

An Indian adaptation of the "Swan Lake" presented in Kolkata
"Hansika", an adaptation of the Russian classical ballet "Swan Lake" by Pyotr Tchaikovsky, is created in the context of the Indian classical Odissi danse. The performance was presented to Kolkatans on September 29th at the GD Birla Sabhagar.
The show is choreographed by Sharmila Mukerjee, a renowned Odissi dancer, who adapted the classical ballet to the Indian realities, while keeping the humane aspect of the plot that resonates in any corner of the world. Original theme by Pyotr Tchaikovsky was in the core of the "Hansika" music by Praveen D Rao.
Sergey Shushin, vice-consul and director of the Russian House, attended the Odissi ballet as the chief guest and congratulated the performers on their success.

On October 26, 1842, the Russian artist Vasily Vereshchagin was born.
Vereshchagin became famous as a battle painter during his lifetime. However, he also dedicated many of his works to the countries of the East - he depicted oriental patterns, landscapes, types of architecture and local residents. In his works, the artist was strict and truthful, showing the viewer the contrasts of luxury and poverty of the eastern countries.
In 1874–1876 and 1882–1883, Vasily Vereshchagin made two trips to India to study the life, nature, and everyday life of the country.
The result of his observations was more than 150 sketches depicting the grandeur of white-stone Indian architecture, the blue of the southern sky, and bright national clothing. The largest painting by Vereshchagin 'The Jaipur Procession' is housed at the Victoria Memorial Museum, Kolkata.
On Vasily Vereshchagin's birthday, we share his "Indian Series".

The International Program "Mission Dobro" has started in India
As part of the International Program, volunteer veterinarians visited several Indian shelters for homeless animals on the first day: "Рaws pet boarding", "Nandi Seva trust", SPCA Noida, to collect anamnesis of life and illness of patients and to determine a plan for the coming days.
Veterinarians from Russia will also conduct trainings for Indian specialists on modern methods of diagnostics and treatment of animals for two weeks.
The program is being implemented by Rossotrudnichestvo jointly with the Association of Volunteer Centers and the "Traces of Man" Foundation.

The 30th Kolkata International Film Festival (KIFF) has been officially inaugurated by the West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on December 4th. Maxim Kozlov, Consul General of the Russian Federation in Kolkata, attended the ceremony among the dignitaries.
The ceremony began with a colorful performance by the troop of the Odissi dancer Dona Ganguly showcasing the diversity of Indian and global dance cultures and the power of unity. 300 performers took part in the dance, including expats from Brazil, Japan, Korea and Russia.
Russian dance culture and the national dress were presented by Irina Malysheva, a member of the Coordinating Council of Russian Compatriots in India.
The international film festival will be held in Kolkata on December 4-11.
