The BRICS Sports Games were held in Kazan from June 12 to 23, with representatives of 82 countries participating in them.
Athletes from South and North America, Europe, Asia and Africa competed in 27 sports and for 387 sets of medals.
The athletes of the Russian national team have won the largest number of medals — 509, 266 of them are gold. Belarus is in second place (247 total, 55 gold), China is in third place (62, 20).
In addition to sports competitions, an expanded meeting of the Ministers of Sports of the community countries took place within the framework of the BRICS Games. Ministers and representatives of the Ministries of Sports of Russia, Brazil, India, Iran, China, the United Arab Emirates, Ethiopia, South Africa, Belarus, Venezuela, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Djibouti, Azerbaijan, North Korea, Cuba, Kyrgyzstan and Nicaragua participated in it. The parties discussed the development of sports in the BRICS community and next Games, which will be hosted in Brazil.
The BRICS Games have become a worthy alternative to the Olympics in Paris, in which Russian and Belarusian athletes are not allowed to compete.

С 11 по 23 июня в Казани прошли Спортивные игры стран БРИКС. В них приняли участие представители 82 стран.
Атлеты из Южной и Северной Америки, Европы, Азии и Африки соревновались в 27 видах спорта и боролись за 387 комплектов медалей.
Наибольшее количество медалей у атлетов сборной России — 509, из них 266 золотые. На втором месте Беларусь (247 всего, 55 золотые), на третьем — Китай (62, 20).
Помимо спортивных соревнований в рамках Игр БРИКС состоялась встреча министров спорта стран сообщества, которая прошла в расширенном формате. Ее посетили министры и представители министерств спорта России, Бразилии, Индии, Ирана, Китая, ОАЭ, Эфиопии, ЮАР, Беларуси, Венесуэлы, Казахстана, Узбекистана, Джибути, Азербайджана, КНДР, Кубы, Кыргызстана и Никарагуа. Стороны обсудили развитие спорта в сообществе БРИКС и затронули вопрос проведения следующие Игры, которые примет Бразилия.
Игры БРИКС стали достойной альтернативой Олимпиаде в Париже, куда не допущены российские и белорусские спортсмены.
