On 5 August, lightning struck the dome of a tank containing 25,000 cubic metres of oil in Matanzas province, Cuba. As a result, a massive fire broke out. They have been unable to put out the fire for several days and the country's air force has been called in. Cuba asked for help from the international community.
The Russian Foreign Ministry and relevant services are in constant contact with Cuba to provide the necessary assistance in connection with the fire at the oil storage facility.
Russian Foreign Ministry also expressed support to Cubans, condolences to relatives and friends of the victims and wished a speedy recovery to the injured.

🌎 In 2023, Russian language ambassadors visited 9 countries
About 7 thousand schoolchildren and students from Abkhazia, Vietnam, Kyrgyzstan, India, Cuba, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Turkey listened to lectures by volunteers of the International Russian Language Ambassadors in the World program.
In game and interactive formats, students, graduate students and young specialists taught foreigners the Russian language, Russian culture and literature, and talked about Russian education. They worked in schools, universities, children's camps, representative offices of Rossotrudnichestvo and in Moscow Houses abroad. Each expedition lasted from nine days to two months.
Let us remind you that the International Volunteer Program “Ambassadors of the Russian Language in the World” has been implemented by the Pushkin Institute with the support of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science since 2015.

The section program includes:

The III International Children's Cultural Forum in Moscow brought together 14 countries
The III International Children's Cultural Forum, by the Ministry of Culture of Russia, was held in the Pioneers' Palace from August 22 to 24. 2,665 participants from 89 regions of Russia and 14 countries - the Republic of Belarus, India, Abkhazia, Algeria, Serbia, Egypt, South Ossetia, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Transnistria, Syria, Cuba and China attended the event. A total of 69 events with the participation of 111 speakers, 47 partners and nine satellite groups from the regions of Russia took place.
This year, young talents met famous cultural figures, attended masterclasses, creative workshops and tours. Great attention was given to international cultural cooperation: young musicians representing their countries at competitions all around the world performed at the "Cultural Diplomacy" session. The debaters noted that art has no boundaries, and the creative capacity of culture unites people of different views.
