90 years ago, on April 4, 1932, the Soviet film director and screenwriter Andrey Tarkovsky was born.

🖋 Andrei Tarkovsky is the son of the famous Russian poet Arseny Tarkovsky.

🎻 The director's first and the same diploma work is the short film "Skating rink and violin".

🦁 The film "Ivan's Childhood" brought world fame to the director, which received, among other things, the Golden Lion of St. Mark's award at the Venice Film Festival.

💯 The film "Passion for Andrey", renamed "Andrey Rublev", was included in the 100 best films in the history of cinema.

🪐 Tarkovsky also maked films based on books by famous writers - S. Lem and the Strugatsky brothers. These are the films "Solaris" and "Stalker".

Director Andrey Arsenievich Tarkovsky died in Paris from a serious illness. The tombstone with the inscription "To the man who saw an angel" was made by Ernst Neizvestny.

90th birth anniversary of a Soviet film director and a scriptwriter Andrei Tarkovsky celebrated in Kolkata

Andrei Tarkovsky is widely regarded as one of the greatest and most influential filmmakers in Soviet and world cinema. He was born on 4 April, 1932 in Ivanovo region, Russia. His father was a poet and his mother was a proofreader.
Tarkovsky studied filmmaking at Moscow's #VGIK. Every movie of Tarkovsky is a masterpiece: Ivan's Childhood (1962), Andrei Rublev (1966), Solaris (1972), Mirror (1975), Stalker (1979), Nostalghia (1983) and "Sacrifice" (1986).

Tarkovsky was a recipient of several awards at the #Cannes and the #Venice Film Festivals. He staged the opera "Boris Godunov" at the Covent Garden theatre, London, in 1983.

Tarkovsky's theory of the filmmaking technique is an integral part of the world cinema.
