One of the most mystical places in Russia is considered the Valley of Ghosts on the coast of Crimea.

In the Valley there are more than a hundred stone pillars of different sizes. All these figures resemble people, animals and various objects. During the daylight hours when the lighting changes, the same natural sculpture at different times resembles different images.

Like all mysterious places, the Valley has its own legend. During the wars, the ruthless nomads came to the Demerdzhi Mountain and were so impressed with the peak that they decided to build a huge forge on it. Here they forged swords for warriors, and the eternally burning fire in the depths of the mountain dried its slopes and water sources. Only the young girl dared to ask the leader to put out the flames. But instead of an answer, the death by his dagger awaited her. At that moment, boulders rolled down the slopes, everything around disappeared behind a veil of smoke, and instead of nomads, stone figures were left frozen forever.

Some tourists stay overnight in the "land of unclean powers" and tell of visions. Some believe that the Valley of Ghosts is a place of power, which gives energy. That’s why, freestanding stones were often the object of worship in ancient times.

Одним из самых мистических мест в России считается Долина Привидений на берегу Крыма.

В Долине находится более сотни каменных столбов разных размеров. Все эти фигуры напоминают людей, животных, разнообразные предметы. На протяжении светового дня, когда меняется освещение, одна и та же природная скульптура в разное время напоминает различные образы.

Как и у всех загадочных мест, у Долины есть своя легенда. Во времена войн к горе Демерджи пришли беспощадные кочевники и так были впечатлены вершиной, что решили построить на ней огромную кузницу. Здесь ковали мечи для воинов, а вечно горящий огонь в недрах горы сушил её склоны и источники воды. Только молодая девушка осмелилась попросить предводителя потушить пламя. Но вместо ответа её ждала смерть от его кинжала. В этот момент покатились по склонам валуны, все вокруг скрылось за завесой дыма, а вместо кочевников остались застывшие навеки каменные фигуры.

Некоторые туристы остаются в «краю нечистой силы» с ночевкой и рассказывают о видениях. Некоторые считают, что Долина Привидений — место силы, которое дает энергию. Недаром отдельно стоящие камни часто были предметом поклонения в древние времена.

The State Tretyakov Art Gallery has prepared a virtual exhibition "Crimean Landscapes". The project is dedicated to the 240th anniversary of the entry of Crimea, Taman and Kuban into the Russian Empire.

In 1783, Empress Catherine II signed a manifesto on the acceptance of "the Crimean Peninsula, the island of Taman and the entire Kuban side under the Russian state." The annexation of Crimea to Russia was the merit of an associate of the Empress - the Governor-General of Novorossia, Prince Grigory Potemkin. Soon, internal trade duties were abolished, which helped the development of the Crimean economy, industry and trade.

☀️ On August 2, the international session "Artek, add me as a friend" at the Artek children's camp has ended. It was attended by children from 52 countries, including the program "Hello, Russia!".

At the “Meeting before parting”, each Artek resident became a participant in the play “The House of My Heart”. Also, creative teams from different countries and the Big Children's Choir performed for the children. In addition, the children were presented with the main award of the center - the sign of public recognition "Star of Artek". And from the main stage they read the manifesto of "Peace and Friendship", which was adopted at the round table "Club of Friends of Russia".

💬 “At Artek, I learned to work in a team, work hard, respect every deed. Most of all I remember the extras, a trip to Ayu-Dag and a trip to Sevastopol. "Artek" for me is the best camp in the world. ☀️ 2 августа завершилась международная смена «Артек, добавь в друзья». В ней приняли участие ребята из 52 стран, в том числе по программе «Здравствуй, Россия!».

На «Встрече перед расставанием» каждый артековец стал участником спектакля «Дом моего сердца». Также перед ребятами выступили творческие коллективы из разных стран и Большой детский хор. Кроме того, детям вручили главную награду центра — знак общественного признания «Звезда Артека». А с главной сцены зачитали манифест «Мира и дружбы», который приняли на круглом столе «Клуб друзей России».

💬 «В "Артеке" я научился работать в команде, усердно трудиться, уважать каждый поступок. Больше всего мне запомнились массовка, поход на Аю-Даг и поездка в Севастополь. "Артек" для меня является самым лучшим лагерем в мире. Я пожелаю тем детям, которые хотят сюда попасть, усердно работать над собой, ни о чем не жалеть, идти к своей цели и не унывать», — поделился впечатлениями Валерий из Южной Осетии.

The Bakhchisaray Cave Monastery is one of the oldest and most significant Orthodox shrines in Crimea. It is interesting for its architecture, combining elements of mountain landscape and monastery buildings. Its buildings were carved directly into the rocks, and in the caves monks hold prayers and classes.

At the end of the XV century, it was the main dwelling place of the Metropolitans of Kafa and Gotha. Since its foundation in the XIII-IX centuries, the monastery has become the center of attraction for all Crimean Christians. Many famous rulers visited its territory: Alexander I, Alexander II, Alexandra Fedorovna, Nicholas I and others. 👑

In 1921, it was closed by the Soviet authorities. During the period of universal atheism there was a psychoneurological dispensary. Only in 1993 the monastery was returned to the church.

🛠 Tourists are open to visit only a few objects, the main of which is the Church of the Assumption with a miracle-working icon of the Mother of God. Part of the buildings of the monastery is still under reconstruction. Near the monastery runs a holy spring, where everyone can draw water.

Livadia Palace is a historical monument on the Black Sea coast in Crimea. It is the last construction of the Russian Empire, created for the Romanov family.

Several Livadia palaces were built by order of the royal family. Only one has survived to this day. The first stone was laid in 1910, the construction and decoration took 17 months.

The palace was built in the style of Italian Renaissance villas with open galleries, openwork balconies and carved decoration. The material for it was white Inkermansky stone - a type of limestone, which is mined in the Crimea.

After the revolution, a museum of the royal family's life worked in the palace for several years, and then a tuberculosis sanatorium for peasants was organized. After the war and until Stalin's death in 1953, the palace served as a summer house for the highest state officials of the USSR. And only after the collapse of the Union, in 1993, the palace was turned into a museum.

The Livadia Palace in Yalta became especially famous after the famous Crimean Conference of the heads of three allied states: the USSR, the USA and Great Britain was held there in 1945. A monument to the leaders of the "Big Three" - Stalin, Roosevelt and Churchill - was erected here.

По заказу царской семьи было построено несколько ливадийских дворцов. До наших дней сохранился только один. Первый камень был заложен в 1910 году, на строительство и оформление ушло 17 месяцев.
