❄All letters sent to Father Ftost are forwarded here. Every year, the Veliky Ustyug post handles about 1 million messages, and not only children, but also adults write to it. The city is also famous for its "shanezhka" - open pies with different fillings.

Who is the Snow Maiden? ❄️❄❄

🎄In Russia, the main characters of the New Year are considered to be the Father Frost and the Snow Maiden. The snow beauty gained wide popularity only in the 19th century after the release of a fairy tale, a play in verse by Alexander Ostrovsky about a doll made of snow, which later came to life.

🎄According to legend, the Snow Maiden lives in the kingdom of Berendeyevo. In fact, there is a village Berendeevka, located in the Yaroslavl province. The relationship between the Snow Maiden and Father Frost changed. If in Ostrovsky's fairy tale the Snow Maiden was the daughter of Father Frost, now she is believed to be his granddaughter.

🎄The heroine has her own residence in Kostroma. The hostess always greets guests with a traditional treat - bread and salt. After the Snow Maiden introduces the guests to the assistants - the cat Bayun and a couple of the household spirits - brownies.

🎄Snow Maiden's residence has a special Ice Room. This is a very cold place, where the temperature is constant all year round - minus 15 degrees. Guests are offered Russian fur coats and felt boots. The Ice Room itself is small. Icicles hang from the air conditioner, and the light bulbs on the ceiling are covered in snow. The room is decorated with ice figurines.

🎉These days before the New Year are always filled with the wonderful feelings of miracles, magic and state of wonder.

🎄New Year's Magic happened at Russian House in Chennai on New Year's Eve when the Father Frost (Ded Moroz) & his granddaughter Snegurochka (the Snow Maiden) came to wish Happy New Year to all who believe in wonders.

Children were happily singing New Year's songs, dancing around the Christmas tree, playing the games and, of course, got New Year's gifts from the Father Frost.🎁
The event was continued with famous New Year's songs performed by the compatriots Olga Flint and Yuliana Grishanina.

🎄🎁The wonderful gift for the audience was the inauguration of the 2 exhibitions from the State Museum-Reserve of A.S. Pushkin "Mikhailovskoye": "Christmas and New Year's Greeting Cards Exhibition" and "Meeting with New Year's Fairytale".
