#AmazingRussia 🇷🇺 Altai. Tavda Caves.
🪨 Tavda caves are one of the most visited places in Altai. The caves are more than 1 million years old. Archeologists' findings show that people lived here during the Iron and Bronze Ages. Let's tell you why you should visit this spectacular place.
We advise you to start with the most popular cave — Bolshaya Tavdinskaya, which is also called "Maiden's Tears". This romantic name is explained by the fact that even during the dry summer you can see streams of water flowing down the walls here.
🌳 From the Big Cave it is possible to get to other caves through numerous tunnels and passages.
The second most popular cave in the complex is called "Tavdinskaya-2". From the upper part of the stone caves there is an exit to the observation deck, from which you can enjoy the view of the Katun River and the mountains.
🏞 It is also necessary to visit the Talda Karst Arch, located at a height of 80 meters. This arch is a part of a collapsed cave. This natural monument is considered magical: according to legend, if you walk around the arch pillar three times clockwise, any wish will come true.

⛰️ One of the most famous national parks in the Urals is Zyuratkul Park, located in Satkinsky District of Chelyabinsk Region.
🗿Many signs of human culture development in the Southern Urals in the Mesolithic and later times have been preserved here.
🐎Besides, in ancient times the Kazan road was laid through the Southern Urals, which is not less than 3000 years old. These passages were used by many warlike nomadic tribes. From the banks of the Zyuratkul, the road went through taiga, bushwhacks and swamps to the Urenga Range.
🩵 According to the legend, the beautiful Yurma, a capricious bride, broke a magic mirror. One shard flew into the mountains and turned into a clear lake. Since then it has been attracting people like a magnet. Having visited it once, they leave a piece of their heart here and again aspire to its shores. It is not by chance that the lake is called Zyuratkul, which means heart-lake.

#AmazingRussia 🇷🇺 Veliky Novgorod - The oldest merchant city, mysterious and enigmatic.
📜Historically, Novgorod is divided into two parts - Trade and Sofia - and is considered the birthplace of medieval Russian democracy. In XII-XV centuries the supreme authority was the people's assembly - veche. It dealt with issues of peace and war, domestic policy and others.
🏰In Veliky Novgorod it is recommended to visit ancient churches, theaters and philharmonic, gingerbread workshops and, of course, the Novgorod Kremlin (or Detinets). By the way, there is a wonderful park next to it!
🎨🎼The city has a diverse cultural program. For example, the festival of Old Russian art "Detinets", where concerts, theater performances and master classes are held. Popular and bright festival of folk art and crafts "Sadko".
🥣When you come to the city, be sure to enjoy fish, gray shchi, sulchin (envelopes of dough with porridge), gingerbread and Novgorod kvass.
🌳Outside the city you should visit the Bell Museum, the Ilmen and Seliger lakes, Valdaysky National Park, the house-museums of Fyodor Dostoevsky and Nikolai Nekrasov, and the museum complex "Slavic Village of the 10th century".

#AmazingRussia 🇷🇺 Arkhangelsk
❄🐻❄️Locals often call Arkhangelsk the gateway to the Arctic. This is not surprising: the city is located 30 kilometers from the White Sea. In the early 20th century, polar expeditions departed from here, moving through the permafrost of the Polar region.
Architecture is the first thing that the city amazes tourists. In Arkhangelsk there is a one-of-a-kind 100-meter Soviet skyscraper in the style of modernism.
🏠 Here you can not only look at a lot of preserved wooden houses, but also look into one unusual museum. It is dedicated to the dessert calling card of the city - gingerbread kozula. In translation from the Pomor language “kozulya” means curl. Here you can both buy the dainty and learn how to bake it yourself.
⛵From the Northern Dvina you can board a motorboat that runs along the river through the city.
🏰History lovers will like the Novodvinsk fortress. Built under Peter the Great, the bastion served to protect the local seaport and shipyard.

The beauty of Siberia🇷🇺
❄Siberia, like “the cold,” has for centuries been synonymous with the very image of Russia.
🌏Technically, Siberia is the land east of the Ural Mountains and west of the Russian Far East. This area covers an area of 10 million square kilometers (4 million square miles, roughly two thirds of Russia) and extends 7,000 kilometers (4,350 miles) from east to west and encompasses eight time zones.
🌲🐻There are four ecological main zones: 1) the treeless tundra in the north; 2) the taiga forest; 3) a complex region of steppes and hill country; and 4) a region of mountains, with some very high permanently snow-capped peaks. These include the Altai mountains, the Sayan mountains and the Tuvan mountains.
💦Within Siberia are 53,000 rivers, more than a million lakes, and five of the world’s longest rivers: the Ob, the Irtysh, the Lena, the Yenisey and the Amur.
