#OSCE - Sergey #Lavrov told journalists yesterday on the results of the first day of the OSCE Ministerial Council in Hamburg: In addition to plenary sessions and a working lunch, during which we discussed possible development paths for this common European organisation, we have held about a dozen bilateral meetings. I have had two meetings and one telephone conversation with US Secretary of State John Kerry. Mr Kerry flew back to Washington, but we still had some more issues to discuss which explains the telephone conversation.

I can tell you that as a result we have agreed that our military experts and diplomats will meet in Geneva on Saturday to conclude the work, which went on and off these days, on a document outlining the ways and means to finally settle the problem of eastern Aleppo by urging all militants, and those civilians who wish, to leave it.

#Lavrov: We hope that the #UN will not procrastinate with the next round of the intra-Syrian talks. We also believe that it is time to stop moving in circles. It is time to focus on practical issues in compliance with the agenda outlined in Resolution 2254, including work on the constitution. There is much idle talk about the draft constitution that was circulated at the Astana meeting. I would like to clarify the matter again, hopefully, for the last time. The draft we presented was an attempt to bring together and identify the common elements in the ideas expressed by the Syrian Government and the opposition, including those who are present here, over the past few years when we maintained contact and tried to find a way out of the Syrian crisis.
