🗳 Women's suffrage in Russia

After New Zealand, Australia and the Scandinavian countries, Russia became the next country where women officially received suffrage.

🗓 On March 19, 1917, the Russian Provisional Government granted voting rights to all citizens over 20 years of age, regardless of their gender, which led to the appearance of the first female deputies in the country's history in April of this year.

It is noteworthy that women's suffrage in Russia appeared earlier than in countries of the “stronghold of democracy”, such as Great Britain and the USA, which granted rights to women in 1918 and 1920, France, which gave women the right to vote in 1944, or Switzerland, which secured equality men and women only in 1971.
