At the 72nd congress of the football federation held in Qatar, the Russian language was included into the list of the official languages of the organization. Only 4 out of 191 representatives of the national associations voted against the inclusion of the Russian language. The rest supported this initiative. From now on, Russian, along with English, Spanish, German and French will be used in FIFA's documentation and during communication with the associations. Incidentally, the German language gained its status due to legal reasons. The headquarters of the organization is situated in Zurich, Switzerland, where German is predominantly spoken.

It was announced last week that FIFA may grant the Russian language a special status. Apart from Russian, Portuguese and Arabic were included as official languages. However, their use will not be systematic and they will be used when necessary. For example, in Qatar, where the next World Cup will take place.

On November 10, a three-day humanitarian and educational project started at the Russian House in Dar es Salaam - a set of methodological lectures and seminars "Modern Methods of Teaching Russian as a Foreign Language: Tanzania".
The project is organized by the Russian Federal Agency “Rossotrudnichestvo” and the educational and publishing center "Zlatoust". The project is aimed at improving the professional qualifications of specialists in the field of Russian as a foreign language, strengthening professional and friendly friendly ties between Russian and African teachers of the Russian language.
The participants were specialists from different cities of Tanzania, Kenya and Congo, who teach Russian in schools, lyceums, and additional courses.
The plenary session was opened by the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the United Republic of Tanzania Andrey Avetisyan, who pointed out the importance of holding such practical meetings between Russian and African teachers of the Russian language and the need to hold such events on a regular basis.
10 ноября в Русском Доме в Дар эс Саламе стартовал трёхдневный гуманитарно-образовательный проект - комплекс методических лекций и семинаров «Современные методики преподавания русского языка как иностранного: Танзания».
Проект организован Россотрудничеством совместно с учебно-издательским центром «Златоуст» и направлен на повышение профессиональной квалификации специалистов в области РКИ, укрепление профессиональных и дружеских связей между российскими и африканскими преподавателями русского языка.
Участниками проекта стали специалисты из разных городов Танзании, Кении и Конго, преподающие русский язык в школах, лицеях, на дополнительных курсах.
Пленарное заседание открыл Чрезвычайный и Полномочный Посол Российской Федерации в Объединённой Республике Танзании Андрей Левонович Аветисян, отметивший важность проведения подобных практических встреч между российскими и африканскими преподавателями русского языка и необходимость проведения подобных мероприятий на регулярной основе.
