Outer wilds vs my brain
Vent post about how i slightly messed up my experience in parts of this game.
You see how my brain works is it sees a pattern and assumes that's set in stone. Plus i'm forgetful, plus i only play outer wilds at midnight on pure coincidence so my brain is on low power.
You know how the 6th location puzzle requires the shrine to be on the north pole of the moon? well i realized how on 3+ different locations the north area of the quantum moon is completely blocked off, therefore i just ASSUMED that applied everywhere else/it wasn't possible to move the shrine to the north. And while i was in there and changed locations using the light trick (gosh at least i knew that), and got blocked off on the 6th location, i didn't even think about stepping out in a different location, moving the shrine somewhere else THEN going back to see if it was still blocked off.
And dang it, remember the first thing i said about my brain, and since the shrine will always be blocked off in non north locations, then even if i tried to change locations and noticed how i got blocked off then i would've just ASSSUMMMED that its blocked off everywhere and given up.
Then it happened again in the tower of quantum knowledge when i assumed all the buildings were safe from the black hole, WHY DID I ASSUME THAT AFTER 5 SECONDS OF THOUGHT OF THEY AREN'T BUT NO I ASSUME THAT THEN THROW IT IN THE BACK OF MY BRAIN OT NEVER BE THOUGHT ON AGAIN HOLY POOPY.
Lessen learned/TLDR: guys i beg of you, play your favorite games in the daytime where your brain actually works, don't trust your assumptions/always check everywhere or else your tired ass brain at 1am will give up and search up the answer then you'll feel bad and blame yourself for ruining your experience of a puzzle.
