Best way to get rid of a DJ booth
We bought a DJ booth and so far have not used it. This is due to all the equipment we put in the car and then realize… there’s no room for the booth. We generally just go to venues and commandeer what’s necessary to put all the gear on, with some equipment that has their own stands etc. Can anyone suggest best method to get rid of this booth?

Rane repairs: 7-8 weeks total repair time for a Rane One MkII?
I paid $60 to ship the unit to them which took a week. Their estimate for repairs is from 2-4 weeks but I didn't know that it takes them 2 weeks after they actually receive your unit for them to officially mark it as "checked in" and that's when your 2-4 week repair time window begins (I'm close to 4 now). Then factor in another week for return shipping as I presume they're not overnighting or 2 day expressing so wow. Now my 1-year warranty has become a 10-month warranty if you subtract the time it actually takes them to complete a repair and fingers crossed nothing goes hairy again otherwise that warranty period goes down even further.
I'm just thinking Rane can do better. It's not just about releasing great products but how about the entire customer experience. Is this not typical or something the community is used to in general and with this company in particular? OMG!

Beatport format?
Hi guys, I purchased a bunch of tracks and when I tried downloading them I realized they are all in mp3 format. I am so upset about this as I presumed they will be in .wav or .aiff format.
Is there anything I can do about to change them to a better format??
Thank you

Mixer Help! Allen Heath Xone 2 only sound from hard pans?
just got a second hand 02… went thru with a can of Deoxit (d5 and f5)… connected everything. (Day later)
Two Numark ntx (non usb).... internal grounding so no grounding wire (hasn’t been an issue with other mixers)
having really weird issue with sound… I’m getting signal to Chanel’s and headphones.
nothing comes out of booth connection and the xlr main only works when I hard pan the VCA left or right… signal dead in the center.
wtf is going on?
all new cables… the mixer in better condition than most things I’ve found on second hand. At a loss. Pretty frustrated as the alternate mixer sucks

Pressing/Cutting Single Vinyl for DJs
Has anyone here had their own tracks pressed/cut into vinyl recently, specifically for DJ use? Seems like traditional dubplates are going extinct but services like Vinylify can cut up to 20 mins per side. Kind of pricey at $100 a pop… anyone tried this, and how was the sound quality?

I have an old CDJ 500ii, and I want to know if it can play Blu spec II CDs?
I have an old CDJ 500ii and use it to play my CD collection mainly. Does it support the new blu spec ii CDs as I wish to buy some Japanese edition that only has this option. Can anyone confirm this? I cannot find any information on the internet about this compatibility?

Alternative to Loop earplugs for raves?
Not really getting on with my loop experiences. I find they muffle the sound way too much and it just takes all the enjoyment out of it.
Obviously custom moulded are the best option and I’ll get some eventually when the musician help scheme reopens (I’m a full time musician and it’s currently paused but you can get the for £50 on that program).
Until that reopens though I want some alternatives. What earplugs don’t heavily muffle the? What are your recs?
Thanks!

My story from last night and message to my fellow DJs
Last night, I went and checked out a new venue in town. They opened up maybe 3 months ago. I left a business card there a week ago, got a phone call a few days later asking I wanted to perform for next Friday.
A quick background. I use to DJ regularly a few years back. Took a break because I got drained. Moved. And now have been looking to get back into it, not as a regular, but for fun and extra cash every now and then.
So I went last night to check out the place in order to know what to expect. Good in house PA system. Nice stage. I start a conversation with the DJ working, learned that he is actually the lights and live sound guy, not a professional DJ. He was literally playing songs off of Apple Music. One of the first things he told me was, "make sure you get paid." I asked follow up questions. Overall, there have been three DJs that have worked there since it open and all of them refused to come back because none of them have been paid. Immediately a red flag, I know. The owner and I did agree on an hourly wage, but now I'm strongly leaning to not working it. I do miss it, and I know I haven't done it in a while professionally. I even agreed to a wage that's less of my usual from when I was working more regularly. But if he can't respect his DJs to even pay them, whatever the reason may be, I sure as fuck am not gonna give them opportunity to take advantage of me.
I told the light guy DJing thanks for the heads up and left. I will be calling the owner Monday morning to let him know I am no longer interested. I don't plan on ratting out the light guy.
I am sharing this to remind you all that you are worth something, whether you already know and need a reminder or just starting out. There are ass hole owners that will try to take advantage. Have self respect and dignity to say no and refuse bullshit. On the other hand, if you don't mind any of these things, by all means, you do you. But never settle for anything less than what you are worth.
Edit: Forgot to add, support each other. Support your local fellow DJs. If shit like this is happening in your area, share the information to each other. Don't let others get screwed over.
Update: I appreciate the comments and feedback. My post was to only share and to spread awareness of yourself and others that may not appreciate your value. As for me personally, like I said, it was just for fun. I am not trying to get back into it and do it regularly again. I'd rather spin at home for my own entertainment or have a movie night with my wife and kids. For those of you that are in this world still, be safe, be aware, share the knowledge, look out for each other, and have a contract. Don't settle for anything less. And have fun.

What do you do when you cannot find a song anywhere to buy/download? It only exists in streaming platforms. I cannot reach the artist
I'm particularly interested in: annie boom freak h2o mix. I'm only getting streaming results (plus it's shorten just shy below 4 min, it fades down). In these cases should I simply drop the towel and move on? Am I missing some other finding methods? Thanks!

Speakers for DJ & outdoor deck?
Hello
In the process of building a new deck 1000 sq ft and wanted to see are there speakers where I can use for a DJ to tap into when needed and also use for general music playing on the outdoor deck?
Is it worth putting some JBL pro DJ speakers vs some outdoor rated speakers?
How can I have it where a DJ can bring a mixer and tap into my system. What connection would I need and amp
Looking for suggestions on speakers and amps setup?
