Integrating github Actions with gopaddle for a seamless CI/CD on Kubernetes

Continuous Integration (CI) and Rolling Update to a kubernetes service can be achieved seamlessly when using gopaddle Deck and Propeller together. However, in some scenarios, you may choose to use a different tool/platform in place of Deck to build the docker images and use Propeller deploying and managing the applications. For example, you may choose to use github Actions and then integrate with Propeller for rolling updates. Read more to know how to use github actions with gopaddle for a seamless CI/CD on kubernetes. #kubernetes #docker #github #devops #cloud #azure #microservices https://blog.gopaddle.io/2021/02/18/integrating-github-actions-with-gopaddle-for-a-seamless-ci-cd-on-kubernetes/

Podman 3 and Docker Compose - How Does the Dockerless Compose Work?

One of the main Podman 3 features is the support of Docker Compose. You can take any of your existing docker-compose.yml and just use it with Podman. In my new short video, I am showing how I moved from Docker to Podman in a real docker-composed application:

Deploy a Containerized React App to AWS, Azure, Google Cloud

Learn how to create a production-ready Docker image with React. Then we will use that Docker Image to push it to the Container Registry and we will Host it to AWS Fargate, Azure Container Instance, Google Run

Is it possible to run cronjobs in a dockerized environment without using docker-compose?

I have just watched a video where a DevOps engineer stated that he hasn't used docker-compose in a long time.

In fact our DevOps team isn't good at using docker-compose either, every time I ask them to run a docker-compose task, I'll have to explain to them why they need to do it like that and what's the usefulness of docker-compose.

We outsource our DevOps tasks to a company specialized in DevOps, I thought that our DevOps team isn't good at docker, but when I heard that DevOps engineer speak, I'm starting to think that maybe docker-compose is a thing of the past and I'm getting old and rusty.

We dockerized the PHP application and we want to run it on AWS Fargate. I dockerized the PHP cronjobs using docker-compose. One container runs Php and another runs crontab.

Without using docker-compose, how one can docker-compose? do the DevOps copy-paste the same dockerfile into two fargate tasks? and how would they do that on a local machine?

Pulling/Pushing out any AWS ECR images from/to AWS ECR through AWS Route53 CNAME

The main idea of this article is to show how to use CNAME of Route53 to pull or/and push images from/to AWS ECR service. By default, Amazon doesn’t allow to do it (SSL handshake is not working. SSL has been signed by Amazon side).

I played around with Amazon API and Python and proxy and I have found several solutions:

* Use Python and develop wrapper to log in, pull & push AWS ECR images from/to ECR through AWS Route53 CNAME of AWS ECS service.
* Use Some proxy (Ex: Nginx, Traefik, etc) and make forwarding rules with needed headers. This implementation is \`TBD\` soon!
* Amazon ECR interface VPC endpoints (AWS PrivateLink).

Helm in 10min

Hello guys, I made a 10-min video 🎥 to explain Helm ⚓️ and its main concepts. The video shows how to package a Spring Boot app 🍃 and how to deploy it into a K8S cluster. Also, how to search for charts in public repositories and to install them locally.
If you have any feedback about the content or the editing process, please let me know 🙂

This is an interesting list published by Devoteam’s TechRadar on tech to Adopt/Trial or Assess in 2022

Keeping up with the pace of the rapidly changing tech landscape isn’t easy and making tech-related decisions for your organization can feel overwhelming. Devoteam’s TechRadar is the opinionated tool that aims to help you decide on which technologies you need to hold out on, assess, start a trial with, or adopt completely.

You can see the 'Distributed Cloud' list of tools here.

Or download the full guide (note - you need to provide your dets to get the full guide).

Entry Level DevOps Question

I am preparing for a couple of entry-level/junior DevOps interviews by watching mock interview and researching typical questions online. However, many of the mock interviews don't specifically say if it is for entry level, mid, or senior.

Can anyone tell me what level position this mock interview is? It seems way to difficult for entry/junior level, or maybe I am just unprepared?

Microservices Research

I am currently conducting research on microservices for an edge application, with the goal of reducing its latency. As a novice in this field, I would like to seek assistance and guidance from the community. If anyone has any expertise or alternative approaches to share, I kindly request you to leave a comment or reach out to me directly. Your contributions would be highly appreciated and will greatly aid in my research thesis. Thank you in advance for your time and help.

BunkerWeb - The open-source and next-gen Web Application Firewall (WAF)

BunkerWeb is a next-generation and open-source Web Application Firewall (WAF).

Being a full-featured web server (based on [NGINX](https://nginx.org/) under the hood), it will protect your web services to make them "secure by default". BunkerWeb integrates seamlessly into your existing environments ([Linux](https://docs.bunkerweb.io/1.5.9/integrations/?utm_campaign=self&utm_source=github#linux), [Docker](https://docs.bunkerweb.io/1.5.9/integrations/?utm_campaign=self&utm_source=github#docker), [Swarm](https://docs.bunkerweb.io/1.5.9/integrations/?utm_campaign=self&utm_source=github#swarm), [Kubernetes](https://docs.bunkerweb.io/1.5.9/integrations/?utm_campaign=self&utm_source=github#kubernetes), …) and is fully configurable (don't panic, there is an [awesome web UI](https://docs.bunkerweb.io/1.5.9/web-ui/?utm_campaign=self&utm_source=github) if you don't like the CLI) to meet your own use-cases . In other words, cybersecurity is no more a hassle.

BunkerWeb contains primary [security features](https://docs.bunkerweb.io/1.5.9/security-tuning/?utm_campaign=self&utm_source=github) as part of the core but can be easily extended with additional ones thanks to a [plugin system](https://docs.bunkerweb.io/1.5.9/plugins/?utm_campaign=self&utm_source=github).

We built a tool to deploy from Cursor or Claude with one prompt

👋 Hey DevOps folks

We built an MCP server that lets you deploy your app to the cloud just by typing deploy inside your IDE chat (like Cursor or Claude).

Right now, it deploys to our Playground and we’re working on AWS, GCP, and DigitalOcean support next.

Here’s a quick demo video showing how it works:

Docs if you want to explore or test it.

Any feedback would be appreciated! 💙
