Hopping to Puppy, any tips?

Been using Mint for a solid month, part of my struggle to reduce my use of Windows- keeping it exclusively for compatibility on a laptop. Anyways, my “Primary” PC has been running Cinnamon. Its an older, low-end All-in-One. It handles Cinnamon okay, but the underpowered processor is a hangup.

Picking Puppy because my research so far shines it as perfect for old PCs, and as this ones guts are soldered I’d like an OS that can keep it current- reasoning, PC itself has built in hardware I find very useful as my other machines sacrifice a USB port for the same ability.

Guess primary question is; going in; how different from Mint Cinnamon is it? Still hazey on my Linux lore with whats Debian, Ubuntu, blah. Still gotta buy my feather fedora hat!

Bookworm how to create persistent usb with ventoy

Installed Ventoy on c: of my machine. Ran installer on flash drive. Moved Bookworm .iso onto flash drive. Great. Can boot into Bookworm from flash now. Exit Bookworm. Saved persistence file to C:\dpupbw64save-5.2fs. Is this the file that I'm supposed to extract a .dat file from? How do I do that?

Then I'm supposed to put the path of the .iso and .dat file in Ventoy Plugson correct?

Currently my Ventoy files are on my c:\\ drive.

Am I supposed to move these onto my flash drive?

Little help. TIA.

Why is Puppy Linux so complicated?

Hello! I just installed Puppy Linux because everyone recommended it, saying it was the best. But honestly? I don't understand why they make it so difficult. Why isn't there a normal installer like Ubuntu? I just want a system that works and I don't want to mess around with the terminal all day. Can't this be automated? Why don't the developers make it user-friendly? By the way, nothing works with my Nvidia card, please help, but please describe it step by step because I don't understand codes.

Anyone have experience using Woof-CE to make a puplet?

Just a bit curious to hear people's experience using Woof-CE/making their own puplet.

I've been using PuppyLinux for a couple years now on a spare laptop of mine and have really enjoyed it's "everything-under-the-sun" approach to having applications installed. However, I've got a bit of free time on my hands and am thinking about making my own puplet designed specifically for writers and designed to run on really low-end hardware.

Thanks!

I used the Puppy Remaster tool in S15-Pup32 to make my own Puplet its called MicroPup32 (Microsystem Linux). I used pTheme and other tools to customize the desktop.

Every day i develop updates for my Puplet the first stable Version is called Microsystem Linux 1.4. Install it here on GitHub: https://github.com/IdleDude489/Microsystem-Linux

I need your feedback!
