Older laptop, OpenGL not supported?
Hello there,
I have an old laptop, Asus VivoBook X512DA. I bought it about six years ago now and everything had been running fine until a few months ago. It got hit with the W11 update and really struggles now. I used to play Terraforming Mars through Epic Games and it has become super laggy.
I recently got Chrono Trigger on Steam, thinking that would be easy enough for the laptop to handle, since it's an SNES game, but instead I'm given an error about OpenGL not being supported.
Is there anything I can do to fix up this laptop or is a whole replacement in order?
Edit: I've checked and my graphics drives are up to date.

Good Family Computer under $300?
US based: My boys are getting bigger and my wife actually needs a new laptop as well. Figured getting a family computer is the right play here. Goal is to have it be able to surf the internet, handle all the basic office stuff, play some light games like minecraft etc. Not looking to break the bank though. Didnt know if a desktop or a laptop will suit the bill better (or if I'm just being completely delusional at this price point LOL).
Didnt want a chrome book as I wanted something the boys can learn about computers with and those I find are a bit to heavy on the "Simple UI"

What is the best reasonably priced CPU with the greatest single core performance to price ratio?
Yeah, kinda weird nowadays, but I have a great demand on my system for single threaded tasks. This is highly holding me back in my productivity and I need a CPU with really great single thread performance, but not some wierd stuff like those AMD Epyc or Xeons or something probably worth more than my Corolla.

Replacing laptop hard drive, recommendations?
I have a HP Pavilion laptop I bought back in 2019 and its been a good work horse I've used for work. Last week it kinda died, I reinstalled Windows and brought it back to life but I'd like it to give it another 5 years and I feel like it runs pretty slow even though I haven't put anything on it. All that being said, is there a recommendation for replacing the internal hard drive, whether I should just get some basic HD or solid state drive? I don't much about any of them and I'm not looking to do anything crazy with this laptop (don't game or photo edit or deal with big files) but I'd like to get something decent for under $300. Thanks in advance

Advice - monitor
Hi everyone!
I’m looking for some advice. I work recently from home as a programmer and I want to buy a monitor.
I am looking for a “low cost” monitor, with 24 “, and eye care technologies because I have myopia and easily get headaches.
Do you have recommendations please?
Thanks!

Fully Back Up EVERYTHING/ALL of my Laptop Files
I want to back up literally all of my files in preparation for laptop repairs. I am shipping my laptop to the lenovo depot (I have ultimate support plan) to make some repairs and fix some issues with my laptop (audio stuttering, display issues, dented frame, etc.) They said that I should completely back up my files in case they wipe everything. I don't have access to any flash drives or storages, but I see that windows has a recovery feature (onedrive only has 5gb), and I feel as though that is not enough as my C drive/SSD has 500 gb of storage filled. How can I save all of my files so that I can recover EVERYTHING when I receive my laptop from the depot? Sort of like how Apple has a transfer data option when you get a new phone, where all of your data just gets transferred over from old device to new, is there any way I can do this?

Anyone know if my pc could be causing my internet to cut off?
As the title suggests, I recently just switched from Optimum to Verizon fios 1G. Everything was fine until I started noticing that the internet would cut out randomly for 5 minutes and then turn back on.
But then I started noticing that my internet would only cut out when I was on my pc. And I don’t mean like my pc is the only thing being disconnected it’s my whole WiFi cutting out. I tried everything like restarting the router and tweaking some internet settings, but nothing has worked .
Obviously the only thing I could do is just get Verizon to set up a new router, but I just want to know is it possible for an internet connection to just cut out from using your pc?
