Booting issue, HDD preventing me to go into BIOS
Hello, so my NVME storage device is currently 97% full so I decided to take my HDD out of my old pc to put in my new one (ssds are so expensive now). It's a "new" HDD I got last year and it works fine.
I plugged it in my new pc, both sata data and power, but it freezes on my ASUS motherboard boot screen (Press f2 or Del to open BIOS screen).
I tried to fix this a couple weeks ago but no fix. I tried again today and I was successful in wiping my drive which I thought was the issue because I still had windows 10 from my old pc still installed.
The way I got in was plugging the HDD in, while I was in bios and choosing my nvme to get into windows. That's how I was able to clear my HDD. Not sure if this helps at all but insead of the bios text when booting, it would show a loading icon and the text "(\\?\\Volume *a bunch of numbers and 0's* ) complete 100%".
Afterwards, I restarted my pc assuming it was working again but still was stuck on the same ASUS screen. F2 and Del doesn't work, and I'm not sure it would ever load into windows.
I'm not too knowledgeable about computers especially storage devices, so I tried to find other posts similar to mine, but they were mostly about external HDDs.
Some things I turned on when trying to fix:
\- Windows UEFI Mode (was originally on 'Other OS' for some reason)
\- ASUS Optimal
\- Hot Plug on all sata ports
\- Turned OFF Legacy USB. Not sure if this helps at all, I saw it in another post about external HDDs.
Just to clarify my HDD works perfectly fine without any issues, just plugging it in won't let me into bios to change which device I boot from.
My pc specs if they're helpful:
CPU/GPU: R5 5600 , 9060 XT
Motherboard: Asus prime b550-plus ac-hes
RAM: Trident Z Neo 32gb ddr4
Storage: Klevv Cras C910 1tb , Toshiba 500GB 2.5" Sata Hard Drive
Just ask me if you need any more information. Thanks!
