Is it possible for a computer to last more than a decade without changing components should I clean and maintain them? (asking this should it remain nearly unaffordable to buy parts)

Right now, I have a pretty satisfying setup: I have a MAG Z790 Tomahawk wifi (MS-7D91) motherboard, a Intel Core i7-14700kf CPU, a AMD RADEON 9070XT (Taichi) GPU, a MAG 1250W GOLD PSU, and a Thermalright CPU cooler. I also don't think I'll care much about upgrading as I don't have high hopes for future game developments (due to various controversies and practices by Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft), so I think I'll be content with what I have on Steam.

However, I'm worried about the possibility of one or more parts wearing out and dying. It has happened once before, with a power supply and motherboard (likely due to a surge. Had it remedied with not only those aforementioned upgrades, but also a high joule surge protector). I also strive to occasionally clean out my PC from dust (I think I can simply use a air canister and fiber cloth. I also have a PC store specialist who can diagnose and fix issues(even helped me with the aforementioned dead parts)).

Regardless, I've been wondering if it's possible for a computer setup to remain good for use in decades to come if maintained and cared for. I have heard that some old computers still work to this day, but I haven't looked into it. I at least hope to maintain parts that are now painfully expensive, like RAM.

I Need Advice on a Purchase for a Birthday - I am lost

Hello,

My relatives and I want to purchase a (good) tower / gaming PC for my brother's upcoming birthday.

We'd all been saving up some money on the sly last year (up to 2000EUR ish cause the good ones are expensive) for this August. (yay timing)

Now, my brother is 24, he is a good man,  and his only hobby is video games.

I, as a certified and professional backseat gamer, knows jack-all about PC's.

I play on his old consoles, that he graciously gave me, filthy casual peasant that I am, (which I am very happy with btw.)

I am the main driving force behind the Pc-Tower-Gamer-Purchase.

My brother has an old-ass chimera (screen he got on discount/tower from a friend/MY MOUSE HE STOLE CAUSE HE BROKE HIS) whatever the hell he runs in his den that hangs on to life by sheer spite and is probably a safety hazard.

I am lost. Please help me. Grandma might pull-out and buy him a jumper or something.

I am thinking about a good tower and he'll get himself the rest (mouse/screen/whatever the hell)

But I don't know. What should I buy?

How true is the notion that RAM prices will drop by new year 2027 because AI is not profitable?

Thanks

Open Box Laptop

I know the minute I post this I am going to feel like a psycho paranoid non-computer user. So what.

I bought a Dell laptop as open-box from Best Buy. It has the "inspected by sticker" on it, and I completely trust Best Buy. 5 years ago I wouldn't have batted an eye..., but now I am wondering what if the person that returned this installed some spyware or some nefarious program on it to steal information! I booted it up this morning, and it is starting from scratch, so I am pretty sure the factory reset was done.

What can I do to give myself peace of mind that there aren't any scamming/skimming/spying programs on this? Am I crazy? Probably. Thanks community!

PC not turning on properly

Everything should be connected right because i was connecting it with the manual. When i turn it on, it doesnt matter if it is with a screwdriver or power button, it turns on for like 1 second the cooler spins and then it immidiaetly turns off. The power led is on the whole time. I just bought this it would be a shame if it doesnt work :(. The ram and cpu work for sure i tested that. PSU too. I even tried to take out the cmos put it back and then try it but still the same.

Available RAM

I was looking at my System info and noticed this. Could someone tell me if this is normal, I don't understand if I have 16gb of RAM why I only have 4gb available. I am on a MSI cyborg 15 a13v laptop.
