ASTRON vs MAVERICKS

The Presidential School of Termez conducted an Inter-house debating competition on the topic “Is taking care of global issues more important than caring about local issues?” on 8 February 2024 in the school auditorium.

📌The aim of the debate competition was to hone the public speaking skills of the students and teach them to be articulate while expressing their thoughts and opinions. The session brought out a kaleidoscope of opinions, thoughts and perspectives on the topic that enhanced the knowledge and understanding about global vs local issues.

📝The event was judged by educators, Mr Adhel Khan and Ms Desiree Ramakolo who had the difficult task of deciding on a winning team. After much discussion a decision was made that the winners of the competition would be Team Astron.

AL’USRA vs LEGENDS

⚡️The second leg of the the Inter-house debating competition was held on the 19 February 2024 at the Termez Presidential school auditorium on the topic “ Should the British Museum return artifacts to their country of origin?”

The competition was organised by the English department and provided yet another opportunity to celebrate the culture of vibrant discussion and critical thinking which is encouraged at Presidential school in Termez. The debate was evenly matched in arguments and rebuttals as both teams displayed the ability to think on their feet and to argue logically.

📝The event judges acknowledged that it had been a close call due to all the talent in the room. In the end Team Al’ Usra was declared the winner and will advance to the upcoming grand finale.
