System updates chicken coop #2348 Garden beds removed.
The idea was good in concept but just annoying in execution and in the way. Couldn't grow within them fast enough (hard clay soils, etc) so left the two outer barrier beds and will update the soil in those and will add two small gardens that I'll grow hops up the archway still and some bushy stuff that can escape through the wire protecting the hops.
Will add a roosting bar across where the garden was in that last pic, because the chickens seem to enjoy sitting on the garden wire hoop house that was there and watch the sunset and who am I to shit on or take away their comforts and traditions haha
The old coop roost system has also been taken down and this new two bar system was added.
Was a real pain in the arse to remove the nightly waste because it was over engineered cos I needed to be able to walk up it to access the batteries above but since I have my last inverter on the way for the chicken coop everything down there will soon be on AC power... except for the three 190w panels on the roof peak which will still run into a 12v battery system which will most likely just run the exhaust fans which automatically turn on when it gets to 35 degrees cel and mostly cos they were a pain in the arse to set up and wire hahahahaha.
Also probably the phone which plays the hippy music for them
All the waste was dug out from the removed roosts and thrown into the compost bin with a heap of the clay heavy dirt added, also some sprinklers added to it too and got the chooks smashing it around. Need to rake it back up tomorrow and add some planks to the front so they can't kick it out and all over but meh that's a tomorrow job hahaha.
See how this goes composting it may become the dirt I was needing to add to the other gardens in 6 months. Hoping heaps of chicken shit and hay etc being added brings down the clay content so it doesn't harden up like concrete
Incubator has popped out 8 so far... well eleven technicallyyyy but you have your ones that don't make it. Two more pipping at the moment as well and plenty of weeks to go on the incubator cycle.
Got sick of bending down so I cleared a shelf (hmmmm wonder where all the items went, obviouslyyy I put them away right?! I didn't just shove them directly into the shelf below surelyyyy hahahahahaha) and added a rubbish bag and saw dust and made a better chick station.

Smashed together the arvo perches too. That should sort them out... Same height as what the wire "hoop house" was, so should have good sunset views for the girls
