SHOW UP TO PROTECT THE TNS ENCAMPMENT!
HIGH RISK OF SWEEP TONIGHT/MORNING! WE NEED TO HOLD OUR GROUND!
University President Shalala has refused to negotiate with the encampment for the past 5 days and has threatened a sweep tonight or in the morning.
The students, faculty, and alumni at The New School call for your support. Tonight is the night to protect our encampment, the last in New York city (as of tonight).
This time, they won’t catch an encampment asleep but rather geared up with many legal and medical aid as well as documenters.
Charge your devices.
Wear your keffiyahs—mask up.
We will free Palestine—within our lifetime!

📍Eugene, Oregon
From SJP at the University of Oregon:
“It has been over 72 hours since five strong individuals chained themselves to the pillars of Johnson Hall. Admin has given zero response and shown they care so little for their students that they would rather leave them chained to a building all weekend then come out and listen to them.”
Solidarity with our brave comrades for their strength and steadfastness ❤️🔥

📍Sowing the Seeds of Revolution through Alternative Education
In speaking to the importance of education for Palestinians across generations, Loubna Qutami discusses how revolutionary education is never static or finished and instead, it is our innermost psychological and emotional knowledge coming into fruition. Loubna highlights how education is the way out, the capital that can’t be taken away from you.

The university won’t save us, it does not love us. It won’t free us or our people in Palestine, but there are pockets within it that we can learn from. This is where we have access to our world. Revolutionary education, however, also happens outside of the classroom. Student and youth movements have historically centered revolutionary thinking within their programming. This can look like campfire discussions, reading circles, debates, pamphlets, etc.
This is how we can free knowledge from the shackles of capitalism, from the prison cells of the ruling class. We must maintain and sustain that commitment.

🚨How do we organize?
Mariam Abu Samra draws on Fanon's quote, "Each generation must, out of relative obscurity, discover its mission, fulfill it, or betray it."
First, you must go back and learn the history. This is a collective process. Together, you must understand the practices that enabled the movement for Palestinian liberation to be at the forefront of the international struggle.
Students have historically been among the first groups who were able to reorganize and to understand that they needed to establish alternative ways of connecting to and unifying their communities to challenge the Zionist project.
Abu Samra emphasizes that students knew how to articulate an understanding of the Palestinian struggle, breaking the "traditional" politics of the post-Oslo era, and connecting Palestinian liberation to various international struggles. This radical vision must continue to inform our strategies and practices today.
Power to the students🇵🇸

📍Abu Dhabi, UAE
At the NYU Abu Dhabi Commencement ceremony on May 22nd, a PhD student who expressed support for Palestine on stage was detained for a WEEK and DEPORTED from the UAE.
Throughout the school year, the NYUAD administration stood idly by as students, staff, and faculty were taken into custody and interrogated at government security offices. NYUAD Leadership prohibited any expressions of Palestinian solidarity on campus and imposed disciplinary sanctions on those sharing pro-Palestine sentiments. Meanwhile, the UAE government has disproportionately targeted university community members who do not hold a Western passport, several of whom have been deported based on the surveillance of private communication channels.

Students are requesting that community mobilize to the UCLA Law building as soon as possible to prevent further arrests and violence against students. This is a high risk mobilization request, please asses your situation before heading to the campus.
