Several underground Hezbollah weapon storage sites were hit in a wave of Israeli airstrikes across Lebanon, the IDF says.

According to the IDF, the targeted tunnel shafts were located at Hezbollah sites in the Marjaayoun area of southern Lebanon, near Baalbek in the eastern Beqaa Valley, and in the Hermel area of northern Lebanon.

The military says that in recent months it had identified Hezbollah activity at the sites, which it says "constitutes a violation of the understandings between Israel and Lebanon."

After the strikes, the military says "secondary explosions were identified, indicating the presence of weapons in the area."

A group of Israeli settler activists who crossed the border into the Gaza Strip were caught by IDF troops and returned to Israel.

The IDF says that the civilians were stopped in the military's buffer zone inside the Strip, before being brought back to Israel and handed over to the police for further questioning.

The incident comes as hundreds of activists from the ultra-nationalist Nachala settlement organization stage a protest on the Gaza border, which the army says is a closed military zone.

The group says that some of its activists crossed the border into Gaza to plant trees, as part of its attempts to reestablish settlements that were fully evacuated during Israel's unilateral withdrawal in 2005.

The IDF says that troops and police officers are deployed to the border and working to prevent the protesters from crossing the fence.

"Approaching the barrier area and entering it is dangerous and disrupts the activity of security forces in the area," the IDF says, adding that it "condemns any activity that diverts the attention of commanders and combat soldiers from defense and counter-terrorism missions."

The IDF issues an evacuation warning for a building in Gaza City's Zeitoun neighborhood, ahead of an airstrike against "Hamas terror infrastructure."

"The IDF will attack the building in the near future due to the presence of Hamas terror infrastructure inside it or in its vicinity," warns Col. Avichay Adraee, the IDF's Arabic-language spokesman.

Civilians in the area are instructed to distance themselves at least 100 meters from the site.

"As in previous weeks, I wish to emphasize: IDF troops are prepared both defensively and offensively along all the country's borders. There is no change in the directives, and we will know to update as needed should there be any change," he says in a post on X.

A Hamas weapon production site and an arms depot were targeted in Israeli airstrikes in the Gaza Strip in response to an attack on troops yesterday, the military says.

One of the sites was struck in southern Gaza's Khan Younis overnight, and the second site, in Gaza City's Zeitoun neighborhood, was hit this afternoon following an evacuation warning.

The IDF says it launched the strikes in response to an attack by gunmen on troops in the Strip's north yesterday.

No soldiers were hurt by the gunfire, which the IDF says was a "blatant violation" of the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas.

"As part of the strikes, the IDF targeted a site used by the Hamas terror organization for weapons production and a weapons storage facility belonging to the organization," the military says.

The IDF says it carried out the strikes following warnings to civilians, and "after identification confirmed that no uninvolved civilians were present in the vicinity of the targeted terror infrastructure."

"The IDF views any violation of the ceasefire agreement gravely, and will act against any attempt by terror organizations in the Gaza Strip to carry out terror attacks against IDF troops and the State of Israel," the army adds.

A Wizz Air flight arriving at Ben Gurion Airport from London was escorted by Israeli fighter jets following a suspected "security incident," according to Israeli authorities.

The Israeli Air Force scrambled fighter jets to escort the plane, flight number W95301 from Luton to Tel Aviv, following a distress call, a military source tells The Times of Israel.

The suspicion came after one of the passengers purportedly received a "threatening message" on their phone, according to a security source.

An Israel Airports Authority spokesperson tells The Times of Israel that "due to suspicious conduct on the aircraft, security forces acted in accordance with the procedures for such a case," and that the "incident has concluded."

"The aircraft landed, and it was found that there was no real incident," the spokesperson says.

The military and police say they foiled an attempt to smuggle 12 handguns into Israel from Jordan overnight using a drone.

The drone was identified crossing the border by the Israeli Air Force's air traffic control array. Troops of the 96th "Gilad" Regional Division and Israel Police officers were then dispatched to the scene, a joint statement says.

After scans, the drone was located and found to be ferrying 12 pistols. The guns were taken by the police for further processing.
