I’m just now realizing the comparison Locke was making with the story about the dog coming to comfort his mother after his sister died. Sawyer realizing that the man he killed in Sydney may be manifesting as a boar to pay him back for what he did. Or the island is as he hears the whispers in the jungle of the man’s final words that “it’ll come back around.” That always gave me the creeps!! but I’m just now reading further into it on my 3rd watch. I know I’m probably just an idiot and everyone else understood this, still I think it’s kinda cool I always thought Locke was just being really out of pocket with that story 😭

‘People named their kids after us!’ Lost’s Penny and Desmond on being one of TV’s best ever romances
Sonya Walger and Henry Ian Cusick created a love so magical that they’re responsible for what’s widely regarded as the greatest TV episode of all time – not to mention inspiring a fan to get a full leg tattoo of their faces
So, I'm about to finish season five on my first watch and I have a lot to say. (SPOILERS, SO MUCH SPOILERS)
Many things, quite a few. I don't really know where to begin.
1. I don't really understand the twist they gave Locke. He starts out as someone more analytical, practical, a hunter, but then they reveal he was an office worker, that his life had nothing to do with that, and season after season he falls more in love with the island and makes more decisions that go against the group's grain. I understand why they needed someone in the "main group" (Jack, Kate, Sawyer, Sayid and Locke) to counter Jack, but this reversion to the trope where the one who initially seems more logical and rational turns out to be the most emotional doesn't quite work for me here.
2. There comes a point where the way they interweave the present with flashbacks and fast-forwards starts to feel contrived. Is the first episode the only one where this doesn't happen?
3. I'm surprised that Desmond is presented as someone important, someone who was already on the island, someone who knew Jack before he landed there... And then he spends a whole season with Hugo and Charlie instead of Jack. It is only in season 4 that he seems to regain his role among the protagonists.
4. So... what's the popular consensus among the fandom about the smoke monster, the Widmore crew, and the time travel?
5. The way they killed Ana Lucía and Rousseau was disrespectful.
