Richard Alpert is the most mysterious character in the series and I love that !!

Richard is probably the most mysterious character in the whole series. We had to wait until season 6 to finally learn his story, how he became who he is on the island and especially how he managed to live for so long.

I really want him to be in my top 10 characters. I loved his backstory, it was so good. It’s just a shame we didn’t see him that much in the earlier seasons. He had so much potential.

10/10, what do you think?

I have to go back

Last night I finished my second rewatch of Lost, my first run was when it aired on tv. I did have all the dvds but only ever watched different episodes. Anyway, today I started to watch it again from season 4. I'm not ready to be done 😞😭😭

Just wanted someone to know that would understand lol

What was the most intriguing mystery for you while watching?

One of the things that instantly pulled me into the show was how many mysteries there were right from the beginning. It felt like every episode added something new to think about.

I remember constantly trying to connect the dots between episodes and coming up with my own theories along the way. That sense of curiosity is what kept me hooked.

Without getting into big spoilers, what was the mystery that grabbed you the most while watching?

Did they dub Jack/Matthew Fox for this promo? The "Where are you?" sounds so different - is this even his own voice?!

LOST is a 10/10 show, but what left you most underwhelmed by the end?

I love LOST! When it ended and I could dive even further into fan theories and lore, the show gets even better! That said there are a few aspects I really felt were underwhelming or a little disappointing. For me the two big ones have to be Sayids arc and the numbers.

Sayid deserved a much better send off. I never really felt his season 6 resurrection was pulled off very well, then he just runs off with a bomb and dies. Except the real impact in that moment comes from Sun and Jin. They really should have just let him die at the temple because the waters didn’t work in my opinion. Up to the final season, Sayid was one of the best characters and the only one whose eventual arc really felt disappointing.

The numbers! The numbers were everything and everywhere, they hinted to be the thing that tied everything together. The reason they were on the island? Cursed? Magical? Nope, just some numbers written by the candidates names in a cave. I know there is the other explanation given in the ARG, but that’s only part canon. The creators were clear that you didn’t need to follow anything outside the main show to get the full story, this just felt a little part baked to me.

Besides this, I think everything satisfied come the end. Do you have anything that bugs you to this day?

Why do they try so hard to make Locke seem like the bad guy?

How many times do people get knocked out by one bop on the head?

Half way through a rewatch and noticed that soooo many folks get whacked on the head and get knocked out. It's got to be at least once an episode. Never known another show to like knocking out characters 😆

What actually happened when Desmond turned the key in basement when alarm went off after 108 minutes.

Pretty much the title but when Desmond turned the key there was island wide noise and flash which we later see is same as when island was time hopping. Then why not when Desmond turned the key. Why there was no time travel thing happened then?

Every time I listen to “Mama” Cass Elliot, I can only think of DHARMA

I’ve been listening to “Mama’s Big Ones” an album on Spotify, which includes her famous “Make Your Own Kind of Music”.

Every time I listen, my brain instantly goes to the DHARMA Initiative. Anyone else have this happen?

It was the same thing the other day when I was listening to a 70s oldies playlist and “Halls of Shambala” came on. My mind instantly went to DHARMA vans. lol

Quick question- season 3 (has spoilers so don’t read unless you’re mid way through s3)

So when Ben took Sawyer up to the top of the mountain and showed him the other island, he said that they were on two separate islands. Sawyer and Kate took a boat to go back to theirs. But when Kate went to rescue Jack, they just walked over to the others camp. So did Ben lie and they’re all on the same island just two different sides?

From start to finish, Michael had a terrible life.

I don’t know if it’s the show or just my perception, but I feel like they really neglected Michael’s death and Walt’s storyline. The way their story ends, considering they were main characters at the beginning, really frustrates me.

We learn that Michael died in the explosion, but we never really see any reaction from Walt. I know he didn’t want to talk to his father anymore, but it still made me really sad to see that his death didn’t seem to affect anyone. Everyone just moved on, even though what he did was horrible. And honestly, unpopular opinion, but I understand Michael.

Of course he shouldn’t have killed Libby and Ana Lucia, but no matter what you say, he did everything to get his son back. And in the end, we don’t even really see any resolution in their relationship. We don’t see Walt’s reaction, nothing.

We saw Michael again after a whole season without him, we got his backstory in New York and everything… but then he dies and that’s it. After that, we only see him in Hurley’s visions, and apparently he’s stuck on the island because he didn’t get redemption and still hasn’t forgiven himself.

But I’m sorry, he did get redemption. He literally died trying to save the others. He didn’t deserve to be left alone, without his friends, without his son. He already had such a difficult life with his ex, Michael’s life was tragic from beginning to end… probably one of the saddest in the show.

And to think he was one of my favorite characters. He was so funny, always yelling “WAAALLLLTTT” and trying to bond with Jin, even fighting with him at first…

Anyway, that’s just my opinion. What do you think?

Evangeline Lilly's acting in the famous scene in "All The Best Cowboys have Daddy Issues"

The scene where Jack and Kate go out to save Charlie's life.

I always thought it's a hard scene to act. To make it believable that your character cares that much about the life of someone you met only days ago. It just seemed hard to pull off. It's one thing to show affection for the loved one in a deep relationship, another thing to do that for a mostly stranger. They barely knew Charlie. It could easily look fake.

She showed genuine emotions there. Such a rollercoaster of hope, desperation, relief . She delivered all well, and I have seen a couple of people also mention this so I made a post about it.

It was a great scene and yes it was a bit funny too 😂 That's another beauty of it, I love emotional scenes with a bit of fun. That one was special to me, one of the first scenes I knew i'll love this show.

Who is the real villain in Lost?

So in the end, who is the real villain / antagonist in Lost?

Charles Widmore? Benjamin Linus? The Man in Black? Jacob?

sayid, sun, jin

Sayid, Sun and Jin dying in the same episode… was that supposed to make me cry????

For Sayid, I kind of get it. I feel like it was always his fate. After Nadia died, you could tell he had lost his purpose, and even more after he came back from the Temple. So in a way, his death almost felt like a release, like he finally doesn’t have to suffer anymore.

But Sun and Jin… why?? They had a child. Jin chose to die with Sun even though he never really got to know his daughter. And now she’s basically an orphan…

There are way too many deaths in this show, I can’t take it anymore 🥲🥲🥲
