lost season 3/4

SEASON 4

The time jump is incredible!!! I didn't imagine for a single second that episode 23 of season 3 with Jack's flashbacks was actually in the future. Then I saw Kate appear lol, I honestly thought it was a dream. Then I went straight into episode 1 of season 4 and I see Hurley!!! Crazy. I feel like the plot this season is going to be amazing, especially when we hear about the "Oceanic Six.

In Episode 1 of Season 6 we can see Sayid's passport, but why does it say IRAN? Is there something I don't understand?

S6 question

I’m rewatching the show and I just got to the part where Evil Tina Fey kidnaps Jin and brings him to Widmore’s sub. Am I missing something or what was the point of that? Widmore shows Jin pictures of his daughter which granted was a great moment but I don’t see the point besides that

I finished one of the most beautiful journeys of my life exactly a year ago... 🥹

People often give Stranger In A Strange Land the bad rap. But I have a minor complaint about another episode.

That episode where Sun loses her voice and Lapidus saying some hackneyed cliche line at the end like "looks like she got her voice back after all" was a bit too on the nose, even for me.

In a show about a magical island and time travel, Sun losing her voice due to island magic didn't seem very...plausible, it felt tacked on.

Not the best B plot of an episode.

(I'll never hate any particular Lost episode, but like any normal show they do have their misfires now and then)

Did Dharma specifically choose a one-armed keeper to take part in the film?

the relationships in the series

I really loved the group of Sawyer, Juliet, Locke, Miles, Daniel and Charlotte in the early episodes of season 5 when they were still on the island with the time jumps. What do you think?

Anyway, in general I really like the duos, trios and groups in this series, and I think my favorites will always be the ones with Sawyer. For example Sawyer and Jin, Sawyer and Locke, or Sawyer and Hurley.

What the hell, I love Nikki and Paulo now!

I have been doing a slow-burn rewatch of LOST lately (one episode a day with wife) and discovering new ways to enjoy the series now that central mystery is no longer hidden.

I did make a post few days ago about how I still hated "Stranger in a Strange Land". It's filler episode of the worst kind, but I have a newfound appreciation for Nikki and Paulo now. I was annoyed with them during the original run because it was clear they were added just to pad the runtime for the sake of filler episodes.

But now that I don't have to week one episode every day, I don't mind their detours. Love their chaotic energy. When they had a centric episode ("Expose"), I really appreciate the technical work put in by the LOST team to integrate them in Day 1 of crash. Minimal use of green screen with good usage of perspectives. The story in itself is a hilarious black comedy (kinda feel bad for Paulo though)

Episodes better on rewatch

What are some of the episodes that weren't well received, but upon rewatch are amazing?

Doing a rewatch now (middle of season 3, as you can probably tell from my picks), and my top 3 contenders thus far are:

Season 3.10: Tricia Tanaka is Dead - watching live, it felt like the overarching plot line wasnt advancing very much, but the episode's overall utter positivity and happiness are much needed in a pretty dark beginning to Season 3.

Season 3.14: Expose - A lot has been said about this one too. But its really fun, I like the twists and plot (and obviously Billy Dee is there, which is always great), and again, a moment of meta levity.

Season 1.13: Hearts and Minds - the Boone/Shannon stuff wasn't Lost at its best (Locke drugging Boone isn't quite the sage wisdom he imparted on others in the preceding episodes), but overall the other Island goings-on were fun: Hurley & Jin fishing, for example.

What are some other episodes that are more enjoyable upon rewatch than they were when you didnt know what was coming and were mainly desperate for answers when watching week-to-week?

Just finished the show

I started it 19 days ago and just finished it a couple of hours ago. It’s genuinely might be the best tv show ever, it definitely has the greatest finale I’ve ever seen anyway.

I always heard the show was supposed to be good but before I watched it, I never seen a single clip of it and I knew absolutely nothing about the show except it was about a plane crash. I watched it fully with 0 spoilers (unfortunately probably only the first time I’ve managed to do that)

I’ve seen people being confused about the ending and even just about the show before that. They mustn’t have been paying attention because everything to me was so easy to follow along.

Watching the show beginning to end for the first time

I watched the first three seasons of this show as a little kid, but I was way too young to really get all of it so I'm watching it in its entirety for the first time now! I never found out how this show ends and I'm excited to finally know.

Tbh all I really remember about the show from watching as a kid are: Charlie, "see you in another life brother", some kinda monster that knocks down trees, the pregnant girl, and Kate having a really complicated mysterious past. I don't remember any of the actual storylines lol.

Anyway I just finished the pilot and I am sooo blown away. First of all, this show is EXPENSIVE. I watched the episode amazed by everything, especially for it's time. It's easy to remember why the show was such a huge cultural phenomenon when it came out. Like EVERYONE was talking about this show. I feel so nostalgic now for a very different time in television. The waiting week by week for each episode, the mystery, cliffhangers, it was all so much fun.

Anyway, I just wanted to document my experience watching the show so I will probably update as I progress! Anything I should pay extra attention for this time around??
