Also want to say one more thing to the people here who believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. In church today our pastor tied the book "The 5 Love Languages" in with John 3:16. One of the 'love languages' in this book is the giving of gifts. On the day before Valentine's Day we were reminded of the incredible and undeserved gift of LOVE the Lord Jesus Christ has given us through his death on the cross. Our pastor also reminded us to ENJOY THE GIFT. This got me all choked up because, in these difficult times, I often get very anxious and forget to ENJOY THE GIFT. So I just wanted to pass that on. πŸ’œβœοΈβ€οΈ

Success! I just installed KDE! It looks like so much fun that I may be distracted for a while setting up. I just love this channel.

More than 90% of the top 1 million professional internet servers, and 100% of the world's top 500 supercomputers, run on the Free and Open Source Linux Operating System.

This is because of its stability and precision engineering.

The PROS are using Unix-like O.S.'s ... because they know ... while Microsoft Windows with its spyware, record high viruses, expensive licensing fees, and connections to China are pushed on the American public.

There's nothing stopping us, but "us," from making the change to a better way of doing our computing..AWAY from "big tech" O.S.'s like Windows.

Woohoo! So excited about the great new Social Network launching soon, and so happy that I "got on board" with this tech freedom revolution back in September! It's not too late! It's not that hard! Never heard of Linux or distros or kernels before joining the Jeffrey Peterson - jeff.pro and JP's technology chat on 9/12/2021. I was in JP's first Linux for Beginners class, and was fully able to accomplish everything taught in those classes practicng with it a little bit every day (up to Build a Full Server β€” still on my to-do list!), and I HIGHLY recommend that course for people new to Linux! Because I wanted to pursue this technology further, I'm now 5 weeks into an awesome Python Programming course (Jeff.Pro) and I am participating in the small ways that I can (sharing with friends, opening conversations with acquaintances) and looking forward to doing more in the days ahead. We The People are making a difference! God bless Jeffrey Peterson! God bless this growing freedom community! And God bless our Nation truly with Liberty and Justice for all!

It's nice to be off of the Microsoft farm and not involved in the Windows 11 fiasco. Maybe they're doing "We the People" a favor by trying to force everyone to upgrade to new, more expensive hardware. More are likely to resist and just stay put with Windows 10 or look for other alternatives.

It's also nice to see that our OSes enable our upgrades to get better and better but still able to bring new life to older machines we abandoned to keep up with MS.

Switching the Home Theater PC to Linux this week. Absolutely no reason for it to run Windows. Bye Bill!

Linux has a web-based TV program called Hypnotix. It currently pulls in 859 TV channels from around the world, many in languages you probably don't know. But it's an option to consider, if you're bored of the current offerings and feel like exploring. You may find that many don't load or offline. Its opening screen shows buttons for TV Channels, Movies, and Series. Only TV Channels list sites. I've only played with it a couple of times, just to see what it was about, so I can't say much more than that.

Hello Community - as a very non technological human (late 50’s), I have worked up the courage to commit to the education necessary for digital freedom. I want to get rid of my iphone and learn how to wipe my laptop of the cancerous MS and install Linux OS. Just watched a you tube of a computer repair man warning about Microsoft 11. He says you will not be able to do this without MicroSofts permission and explains why.

And, give yourself some time. If you feel overwhelmed then just slow down. Follow the channel and read a little a few times a week. Soon it will start to sink in and everything will make sense to you. Then you will be thankful you discovered everything you see here!

I'm 65 yo. I've loaded Linux mint cinnamon on 1 old acer about 2015 and an HP 2012. Tossed windows 10 and windows 7 went straight up linux.. Not much IT knowledge. Followed this group they have wonderful info and live in truth. Both notebooks work like a bomb. Will never go back to anything ms. Next is my phone... Bit nervous about that but its most liberating. All that money spent on upgrades blah blah and all that bloatware. I'm over it like I'm over masks and ds

Just got my de-googled pixel, can someone let me know if there is just a way to pull my pictures over from my iPhone, trying to avoid a complete data transfer to make sure nothing unwanted makes it to phone.

I have a dumb question - can you buy a phone that isn’t a smart phone anymore or do you have to de-Google/Apple any phone you buy? Doing research to share with folks - thanks and pointing to articles would be appreciated. -

Just go into Best Buy or any other store selling cell phones and tell them you’re looking for a Dumb Phone. That is the terminology I think they use to refer to a basic phone that just makes calls and may send text messages, but doesn’t access the Internet.
