Something this crowd may get a laugh from. I work at a mid-sized tech company in Austin, TX. On Monday we had some customers in and about 20 people in the room and equivalent online. A windoze 10 machine runs the audio/video in the conference rooms. The customers asked us "what is the plan for windows 11support?" Just as the they were saying "windows 11", the windoze 10 machine blue-screened. Disrupted the meeting for 15minutes... It was hilarious. Note we and our customers use windoze and Linux with Linux becoming more and more prevalent. Took the opp to show off my newly de-googled phone during the disruption...great conversation starter...

Love it. My son started using Linux Mint Cinnamon this week full-time. He's a gamer and so far no problems... can't wait to learn how to use steam without having to use Wine

Apple’s Secret $275bn Deal With China (reports)

Apple CEO Tim Cook apparently greased the wheels with Beijing personally to improve Apple’s then-flagging fortunes to the tune of $275bn over five years while purposefully keeping the deal under wraps. (The Information)

Cook reportedly lobbied Chinese govt officials from 2016 to improve Apple’s image among them, while agreeing to plow billions into improving Chinese tech development projects.

In return, Beijing agreed to give Apple “necessary support and assistance” in generating custom and tackling supply chain issues.

I've been watching as a spectator and slowly moving over fully to open source since 1988. I grew up on a Zerox 100 or 200, can't remember. I have been an embedded engineering technician and had to know all of the operating systems since. I took a break from high tech for 5 years after watching computers reboot 😅 for many years. I have a few laptops that miss me. However, I have been challanged by Windows 10 updates to where my 2019 Asus laptop is not upgradeable. I tried everything, and Microsoft keeps telling me to reboot for 20H2 upgrade and loops continuously for 7 months plus. Today I successfully booted to Mint on my thumb drive. I am extremely upset with Microsoft windows and will continue with my slow migration to a Linux OS. Thanks, Jeff. I'm glad you have put this forum together it's helped me back into my old hobby.

What you'll find in here is that there is NO "cyber security" except a false sense of security using mainstream OS'es such as Microshaft or Apples close source operating systems.
Linux will bring me life to older equipment. Grab a flavor for your equipment and give it a "test drive". No need to install right away.

Was certified and supported Microsoft products for many years. I retired and let it all expire. Thanks to this channel I've converted to Mint and am absorbing like a sponge again. Next is the Android phone. Thanks Jeffrey!

The only thing left for me to get rid of is my iPhone! I have kicked windows off my laptop, bought an old Dell desktop and installed Linux on that, bought a second desktop and did the same and sold it. I just bought a cheap Dell chrome book 3120 as my next project. I sold my iPad, and am looking for an alternative still, iPhone is next. I have also done two other laptops for others who had issues with windows on older laptops. Even started a website to try to get more people to de google or do window their devices. Having a blast and learning so much!

I’m dumping all things Apple. Evil. I often wonder if Jobs died from cancer or if he was slowly murdered. Was he a good guy? Did he know Pixel would merge with Disney? Jobs ran two corporations successfully at the same time. Who else was or is even capable of such a thing?

I like the Brave browser and the new Brave search. The founder, Brendan Eich, used to be the head of Firefox, but they kicked him out when he supported legislation to keep marriage between a man and a woman. He then founded Brave. I have been using his browser ever since.

I love being able to download new life into my old laptops!

I don’t expect it to work perfectly. I’m willing to sacrifice. Tired of giving my money to people who want to destroy me.

My 20 year old son and this 49 year old dad... both of us plumbers by trade... are on board and learning. We are excited for this new faith adventure and tech adventure. It is amazing! "If My people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves, pray, seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways; then I will hear from heaven, forgive their sin, and heal their land."
I perceive that this is occurring across our nation. His people have done what He asked, and now this is one of the many parts of how He is healing our land. I pray daily that God will stir up His people. This is evidence of God stirring us all up for His Glory! Love it!!!!!
