Linux Mint on a new HP, 64Gb RAM, 2Tb SSHD, 15” touch screen. Dual boots to my wife’s Windows 10 partition. The other screen is a 2009 Mac Mini out to a 48” HDMI TV.

So, after almost 20 years I'm leaving the healthcare field- I just can't be a part of what it has become. That said; do any of you have suggestions on which of the following to pursue based on highest pay, least saturation and most security...

*-Front End Design/developer

*-Analytics

*-Data Science

Forgive me in advance for the general question, any recommendations on a new laptop I can run both windows (for work, I’m setting it up from scratch to disable as much tracing), AND load after Linux (Ubuntu or Mint, or...?) so I have dual use.

I’m wanting something w/ at least 32GB memory, 1 TB storage, and take advantage of an i7 or better processor. Specs won’t be cheap I know, but I don’t plan on buying a new machine for many years. Looking at HP vs Dell vs Acer.

I have an Asus laptop, blew Windows of it, installed Linux Mint and what a refreshing thing

Ubuntu is easier to use right off the bat, Mint teaches you a lot more through experience.

I installed Ubuntu on MacBook Pro. Everything was flawless except sound. Finally searched enough and found a solution. Loving Ubuntu

I put Ubuntu on a old MacMini it works like a charm and I love it, it was really getting slow with the new iOS. Does anyone have any advice for installing some distribution on an old ipad?

I wanna do that on my husband's old mac, is it possible to keep the existing system and still install and run Ubuntu? I'm afraid to mess up and lose stuff

Possibly a bit easier for me because I've been a Linux user since 1998 and I worked as an IT technician for a number of years.

Have a go, Linux really isn't too difficult and having the freedom to do as you please is better than being caged in on rubbish like MS Windows.

I've got hold of a refurbished Dell - the guy's going to strip off Microsoft and install Linux. Should I ask him for Ubuntu or Mint? (I'm NOT techy)

I just found out that on Mint, upon logging in, you can switch between desktop environments. You can pick whichever is comfortable for you...and swap at anytime

I just now flipped a $20.00 Dell Vostro over to Mint. 3rd laptop that I’ve done. Newest laptop was from around 2014. Love Mint

I installed Mint Cinnamon the other day and was stunned I was able to connect my Protonmail with no problem at all. I have it pinned on Firefox and it opened like normal.

👍👍 It should even be faster on Linux than on Windows. I am always stunned how sluggish browsers are responding on Windows. I am spoiled now 😅😅
