Rsnapshot is a good one. Keeps every version of every file added or changed. Does not delete files from the archive. Uses hard links and a rotation script. You set the number of daily, monthly, and yearly copies you want to keep. Can work on a local USB drive as well as over your network to any rsync capable machine.

No social media platform is 100% safe. However, TG is pretty good comparatively - WAY better than FB/Twitter. This is where many patriots have landed. JP and the admins have worked hard to create a great environment on this channel where people can learn and encourage each other. I'm sure it's not an easy job keeping this channel the way it is.

Hi from Tassie!! And the same. Was using Gabβs version of Brave for a while, but with switching iMac to Zorin have swung to Brave on iMac and iPhone. Working pretty smoothly so far. And interesting to see the different types of search results on their search engine compared to duck duck go/Google etc.

I'm waiting to purchase a laptop gonna go all out, and the first thing I do is format that sucker and jump into Linux. You know what, I've had enough tech problems with Windows that I welcome the troubleshooting with Linux. At least I'll be free.. Can't wait. (Black friday?)

RaspberryPi is hardware like Mac or PCs, right?
And Linux is software like BigSpur on Mac and Windows, right?

Went to a concert in 2017. Last night my wife and I were looking at old videos on our iPhones and see some of the videos are gone, apparently forever. We use iCloud storage, but now migrating everything over to something else. I'm so sick of them deciding what to keep. I'm assuming they deleted them because of DRM, even though we were there and took the videos ourselves.

I saw some recent chatter on here about the LMS classes Jeff has going..I can say enough about them! when I joined this group being "techy" for me was plugging in my my laptop and knowing how to turn it on. Tonight I just finished setting up my own server with a firewall and configured to accept web sites so I can move my site onto it. And thats all with the command line. super cool.
