HP Audio Books
I’ve been listening to the full cast versions on audible. Highly recommend it’s like watching a movie with your eyes closed.

I love POA simply because of all the random events that led to what happened and gave birth to one of my fav characters
Whenever someone asks my why POA is one of my favs, it's because of all the random events that started the whole plot going.
1. Arthur winning the draw out of everyone to earn his family some money
2. Ron having Scabbers in the picture. (I mean, if Ron left a treat in his pocket for Scabbers to eat, he wouldn't be in the photograph)
3. Fudge deciding to buy and bring the Daily Prophet with him into Azkaban
4. Sirius deciding he wanted to read the paper and Fudge passing it to him
Then the rest, as they say, is history. In fact, with Wormtail on the loose and going to Albania, it sets the series of events for the rest of the books. I just love how Rowling crafted it so well and we get these random, throwaway small actions that just shows cause and effect being done right.
It's one of the main reasons why i love the series and POA in general

Easter egg or a coincidence
I was reading half blood prince I got to the part where Harry and slughorn and hagrid were drinking after the burial of argog and slughorn messed up Ron’s name and accidentally called him Rupert who is the name of the actor who played Ron in the movies

If Hogwarts existed in 2026, what would students 100% ruin with modern habits?
Like imagine magic and current trends there's no way things wouldn't get chaotic fast. I feel like some traditions would be completely ignored or turned into content. what's something from the wizarding world that wouldn't survive modern student behavior?

Thoughts on The Owl House?
For as long as I can remember, I've been seeing how people on the owl house sub-reddit feel about Harry Potter. It's....Mixed at best. So today I decided to do something a little different, as Harry Potter fans, what are you're overall thoughts on The Owl House?

Wondering about Draco Malfoy
Do you all think Draco Malfoy would have made an attempt to raise his kid with good values?
I am wondering if he taught his kid to be nice and kind to everyone at school as opposed to the mean boy that he was. Did he change at the end especially after Harry saved his life?

What words or names did you unknowingly find out that you mispronounced constantly in your head when reading the books?
For me, in my head I always read over professor Snape’s name as professor “Snap”, as in snap your fingers. Only figured out I was reading it wrong when in school one day our teacher and the class got into the subject of Harry Potter, (forgot the reason how) but one girl in my class heard me say “professor SNAP” and she looked at me and said, it’s (Snape) with how you would correctly say it.
Also unknowingly constantly mis read dementor as (in my head at the time) DEMON-ATE-ER. Only figured out the correct pronunciation once I started watching the movies and was like OHHHHHHH.

Sickest burns
What are some of the best insults and comebacks in the books???
A few of mine (paraphrased in places):
-"No need to call me Sir, Professor" (book 6, Harry)
-"Everyone on the Gryffindor team is missing something. The Wesley's have no money, Potter has no parents. Longbottom should be on the team as he has no brains" (book 1, Malfoy)
-"‘Mr. Padfoot would like to register his astonishment that an idiot Iike that ever became a professor." (Book 3, Sirius)
-""Listening to the news! Again?" "Well, it changes every day, you see," (book 5, Harry)
-"'Will you babysit the cubs?'" (book 7, Voldemort)
-"Bellatrix: “He would have me! I who spent many years in Azkaban for him! Severus: Yes, indeed, most admirable. Of course you weren't a lot of use to him in prison but the gesture was undoubtedly fine.” (book 6, Snape)
-"McLaggen makes Grawp look like a gentleman." (Book 6, Hermione)
-"Can I have a look at Uranus too, Lavender?", (Book 4, Ron)
-"Longbottom, if brains were gold, you'd be poorer than Weasley, and that's saying something." (Book 1, Malfoy)
-"Yeah, we’ll call you,” muttered Ron as the knight disappeared, “If we ever need someone mental." (book 3, Ron)
-""Yeah, he's off to the Chamber of Secrets for a cup of tea with his fanged servant." (Book 2, George)
-"yet, sadly, accidental rudeness occurs alarmingly often. Best to say nothing at all, my dear man" (Book 6, Dumbledore)
Any others ???

Half Blood Prince Movie vs Book
I just got done watching the Half Blood Prince and oh boy is my blood boiling. There are so many ludicrously dumb changes the movies make to the books, but in one of the most critical moments of the entire series, Dumbledore dying, they change Harry being immobilized by Dumbledore making him unable to act, to instead, him just standing there, waiting around, and then Snape coming in and shushing him into further inaction... when to this point in the series/movie Harry very clearly does not trust Snape.
Ahhh, it's just so stupid. It makes Harry look at best pathetically passive, and at worst cowardly.

What was it like when the Harry Potter books actually came out? What do you think was gonna happen in the 7th book and after that?
I know there were a lot of midnight releases but by the time 2011 hit, I didn’t know anything about Harry Potter. I didn’t get into it until I was older and it sounded like a fun series. The movies were cool too but I watched them on tv.

Instead of a reboot they should have made a new series about a magical school in a different country
It would have been so cool to see a whole new non eurocentric wizarding world with new rules of magic and magical politics.

How are portraits created? I wish there was one for Sirius Black
Given the unfairness of Sirius Black’s death (which I have never ever been able to accept!) and how much Harry loved Sirius, at the end of order of Phoenix Harry even talks to Nearly Headless Nick - a understandably desperate need for Harry to somehow still be in touch with Sirius. I thought if there was a portrait of him like that of Albus Dumbledore, it would have been nice for Harry.
Anyway I was wondering if there is any mention of how portraits are created, they usually tend to retain all the memories of their life so I’m just curious.

Would Malfoys crucio curse work?
Reading the half blood prince and during Harry and Malfoy fighting in the bathroom, Malfoy begins to say crucio but Harry gets their first with sectumsempra.
Do you think, if Malfoy was able to cast the curse, would it have been effective?

Possible reason for why Voldemort couldn’t be more discreet with his Horcruxes
I think narcissism is crucial for making Horcruxes.
We know that emotion fuels a lot of magic...
Love fuels Harry’s blood protection
Happiness fuels patronus magic
Humour fuels the magic needed against Boggarts
Secrecy/Trust fuels fidelius charms
So it might be reasonable that Horcrux magic requires a strong feeling of vanity. The wizard wanting immortality must truly believe that their life is so worthy of lasting forever that it’s fine to come at the expense of other peoples lives.
Voldemort is way too vain to encase his precious soul within insignificant objects and that’s why he has the power to create horcruxes in the first place.
In contrast, the kind of wizard who would rightly think it’s smarter to use discreet objects - old tin cans or potions bottles etc, would never have enough required vanity and narcissism to actually create a horcrux for themselves.
This further suggests why Voldemort seems unable to choose better locations to hide them. He drops hints to the death eaters as to their existence. He leaves two in possession of Bellatrix and Lucius and he houses the rest in discoverable locations.
On some level, Voldemort’s intention is not to hide his horcruxes. His intention is to spread himself wide and showcase his own greatness. He wants people to know how powerful and terrible he is. His hiding places are not safeguards. They are shrines to his existence. The Cave most obviously built so that hundreds of dead mortals can worship at the alter of a part of his soul.
That’s the irony and monkey’s paw deal of horcrux magic… In theory, a person can achieve the concept of immortality if they are vain enough but that same vanity will lead to their own undoing eventually anyway.

Voldemort's Plan
I have a question for all of you Harry Potter fans out there. And that is about The Goblet of Fire. Voldemort's plan was to enter Harry into the triwizard turminet, making sure would end up first place so he could touch the goblet of fire which actually was portkey, so Harry would end up at Voldemort's mercy all alone without the protection of Dumbeldore, so he could take his blood and thus get back his body. But my question is, why did Voldemort went through all this trouble just to bring Harry to him when he could just have his secret death eater, Barty Crouch Junior, which was deeply inbeded in Hogwarts, disguised as a teacher, to just summon Harry to his office, make a portkey out of something in his office, tell Harry to touch it, and Boom! The exact same result. With his actual plan, Harry could easily got killed already in the first task with the dragon, just like any other none-main character.

How were the death-eaters jailed at azkaban in such good shape after 14 years ?
Let us be serious. According to hagrid account, where he say he was waiting to die at azkaban due to the sheer despair it enduced, I would had taught that whoever served voldemort and was at azkaban would be empty shells, having long forgotten how to fight and waiting for death.
Yet instead, those death-eaters prove themselves ready to fight, just as eager as before, and show no signs of issue from Dementors exposure. They are not just broken shells in need of reeducation.
Any idea to explain that ?
