Technoahide
I'm coining the term 'Technoahide'. Here's what it means...
I'm unafraid to speculate, wildly at times, and I've identified an emerging theme in some of my posts (1,2,3,4,5).
On one hand we're seeing the emergence of increasingly technological, technocratic systems in the West, and on the other we're seeing a clear rise in right wing populism. This is perfectly illustrated by the Elon Musk character, who is both a transhumanist technocrat and what the kids call 'based'.
I think we're seeing a thesis (big state digital surveillance) and antithesis (right wing populism) clash to create a synthesis (Technoahide).
The Technoahide is a society based on the conservative Noahide Laws of Judeo-Christianity, upheld by a highly automated system of AI and digital surveillance.
I think that the 'boats' crisis and unbridled immigration has been allowed (and perhaps at times exaggerated) to boost support for right wing Zionism (Trump, Reform, Farage, Tommy Robinson, Tucker Carlson, Elon Musk etc), whose figureheads will propose highly technocratic solutions to the problem. They know what the majority of people want and don't want, and the only way they can get the masses to accept something they don't want (digital ID, surveillance) is to offer them something they do want (an end to 'woke' madness).
The Technoahide would be a society putting the values of the Torah at its centre, enforced by powerful AI systems, digital ID, and a digital social credit system. (Their) order out of (their) chaos.

Hello, Fausta here. As some of you may know, I am Lithuanian. Because of this, our kids get to enjoy both Scottish and Lithuanian traditions. Tomorrow Lithuania celebrates Užgavėnės, an ancient tradition where people dress up in scary costumes to scare away winter and eat lots of pancakes. After horrendous weather we've been having lately, it seems very appropriate to celebrate Užgavėnės this year.😅 We'll be making masks with the kids tonight and enjoying a pancake feast tomorrow with Lithuanian stories by the fire.
Do you have any traditions that you celebrate which may be considered unusual where you live?
Pictured are a bunch of pendants which felt appropriate for this celebration - spooky neeps, horse skulls, and wolf skulls. Also, it turns out that the horse skulls work very well as incense holders for non standard incense.👌

Listening to the latest Call Sign Werewolf about 'The Jesus Question' (which is good), it dawned on me how many people I know of who came to Heathenry/Paganism largely through the works of JRR Tolkien. Ironic that a man who told people he was Christian would do so much for the Pagan revival.

I know there's an awful lot of hype and hope surrounding Rupert Lowe right now. I know people who until two weeks ago were saying 'there's no political solution', who are now giddy over him.
I'm not necessarily condemning him, but I will scrutinise him (and lose many followers along the way). I've been around long enough to see numerous political pied pipers come and go, and I've read enough about political history to know what happens to politicians who genuinely threaten the establishment.
I swore to myself many years ago that the only politician/party I would ever vote for again is one who makes it a central policy to end private central banking. You might say 'it's silly to set impossible standards', to which I firmly say 'nothing can be permanently fixed without the state regaining total control of the money supply.'
Vote for Lowe, by all means. I predict that if he gains influence, in five years time everyone will be complaining about how disappointing he was... just like Trump, just like Farage. But I'd love to be proven wrong.

A lovely Heathen family have been beset by tragedy, with their four-year-old daughter, Frances, having suffered a severe accident whilst playing.
Frances is currently under intensive care and she, her mother, and father need and deserve the support of those who can afford to give it.
