A vegetarian in the works

Hi guys,

Before I even tell my story, please be kind to me. My story may sound dumb, but that’s what I am going through right now.
I am a full-time worker, raised eating all types of meat. I am currently enrolled in college and taking a GenEd class in environmental biology. Fast-forward to a couple of days, where I had to watch the old documentary Before The Blood (2016). For the ones who haven’t watched, it’s about climate change and shows how much pollution comes from just eating meat (not to mention the animal suffering). I must confess it struck me so bad I just feel disgusted by eating meat. I told my spouse I wanted to start reducing my meat consumption. I had meat in my lunch from yesterday and today, it was delicious, but that sensation of disgust and guilt don’t go away.

So, basically, my question is: have someone been through something similar? I guess I just wanna feel the sentiment that someone else has experienced something similar and how the journey to switching to a vegetarian diet is. I am worried about the protein intake, I guess I would have to speak to a licensed dietitian about it.

Thanks for reading. I guess I just had to vent about this feeling.

Easy dessert ideas to impress?

My aunt loves desserts especially cakes but I've never baked a day in my life nor do i have an oven. It's her birthday on Thursday and i really really want to make her a dessert. I have a chocolate cake in mind with a simple topping of ganache (cause i do not have the skills to ice the cake). I am a bit hesitant since I've never baked before and I'm willing to give other desserts a try since I've made other kinds of desserts before (which did not require baking). So please drop your ideas!

I was drinking tea in a new cafe in my area, I met this wonderful cake of almond flour, cream, dulce de leche and fresh fruits ... Can you believe it doesn’t have wheat flour?
