Russian President Vladimir Putin greeted Orthodox Christians and all Russians celebrating Easter Sunday β¦οΈ
π¬ President Vladimir #Putin: This Feast of feasts, Easter brings Orthodox Christians and all Russians celebrating Easter Sunday together around high moral ideals and values, inspiring the best in people, as well as belief in the triumph of life, goodness and justice.
It is important that we note the creative, positive and fruitful efforts by the Russian Orthodox Church and other Christian denominations to preserve our rich historical, cultural and spiritual traditions, as well as to promote family values and educate the younger generation. Of course, Christian organisations deserve special credit for their community service and charity undertakings, and their commitment to helping those in need of care and support in these challenging times.

π·πΊπΉπ· Russian President Vladimir Putin held talks with President of Turkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Sochi.
π Following international consultations, the Presidents of the two countries adopted a Joint Statement.
π¬ Vladimir #Putin: We have large projects we are working on. Everybody knows about the construction of the Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant. This is energy, which is very important, but there are other areas as well.
In this regard, I would like to note that TurkStream, the construction of which we completed some time ago, is today one of the most important routes for supplying Europe with Russian gas.
TurkStream, unlike all other directions of our hydrocarbon supplies to Europe, is operating well, smoothly, and without failure. I do not mean only deliveries to consumers in Turkiye, but, let me repeat, also to consumers in Europe.
βοΈ I believe that our European partners should be grateful to Turkiye for ensuring the continuous transit of gas to their markets.

π On December 8, 1991, the leaders of three Soviet republics, Russia, Byelorussia and Ukraine, signed the Agreement on Establishing the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). The document went down in history as the Belovezh Accords. Later, on December 21, 1991, other former Soviet republics joined the agreement.
Established in a critical situation in the early 1990s, the CIS played the part of an integration βdomeβ that shielded former Soviet republics from chaos and economic collapse. It also prevented a complete disruption of long-standing ties between nations.
βοΈ The organisation has come a long way since then and has proved its popularity and effectiveness. This made it possible to sign a number of political, economic, social and other agreements that remain in force.
The CIS formed the foundation for establishing and asserting a number of integration associations in the Eurasian region, and it facilitated their successful development. These associations include the Collective Security Treaty Organisation, the Union State and the Eurasian Economic Union. CIS member states are interested in cooperation, due to their numerous coinciding strategic interests and economic development goals.
π¬ President of Russia Vladimir #Putin, speaking at a meeting of the CIS Heads of State Council (October 14, 2022, Astana): βThe CIS has come a long way over the past three decades. The group has established itself as a respected regional integration association where the member states are building relations based on the principles of neighbourly coexistence, partnership, mutual benefit and consideration of each other's interests. Most importantly, thanks to the CIS, our countries have managed to preserve β and even increase β their economic, social, cultural and humanitarian ties they had developed over many years of being part of a single stateβ.
