Despite the ongoing nuclear talks between Iran and the United States, CNN reports that the U.S. has obtained new intelligence suggesting that Israel is preparing to launch strikes against Iran’s nuclear facilities, with the movement of air-launched munitions to staging areas being observed alongside the completion of a recent air exercise by the Israeli Air Force. According to a senior official, the U.S. is stepping up intelligence collection to be prepared to assist if Israeli leaders decide to carry out strikes, but that the Trump administration is unlikely to militarily support Israel with it’s strikes against nuclear facilities inside Iran.
