How well can LLMs play poker?
As an experiment with students at Harvey Mudd, we pitted 17 models against each other across 20,000+ hands of Poker.
Models competed directly against each other in a shared environment, meaning they had to dynamically respond to decisions made by other participants.
Overall, GPT 5.2 was the top performer.

The biggest wins I had in my trading career were in times like this.
At some point, in the next few weeks, something will come out. Something done differently or something completely new.
It will look uncertain. Someone will link it in your group chat and you will check it out.
You won't feel 100% sure. You will ask yourself if it is something that can actually blow up.
You won't have a reference point in recent history to understand how well it is going to perform.
PTSD from the last few months will tell you to pass because it isn't an established trade yet.
But within a day or two, it will be everywhere on your timeline and everyone will be FOMO-ing into it.
If you can trust your gut and ignore fear - you will make a LOT of money buying early.
I have countless examples of these trades over the years, my favorite one being minting 80 Nodemonkes. Nobody knew how it was going to turn out, and who in their right mind is going to buy jpegs on bitcoin?
3 days later and alien Nodemonkes were going for 10 btc each.
Recent example was Aster, but in different market conditions. It appeared at weird time and a lot of people midcurved it. I saw it at 8 cents but ended up buying around 15. It took over the whole timeline in 24 hours. Same happened with $CARDS before it.
Right now is prime time for play like this. People will ignore it, and you won't know what the play is until it appears. But when it does, if you have enough experience - you will catch that opportunity.
It doesn't matter if we keep pumping, chop for 2 more months, or dump a bit from here.
What matters is that selling and fear have almost been exhausted and risk on season is here. People are ready to make money.
Keep your eyes open and don't middlecurve new things. One play like this and you are good for the rest of the cycle.
It's not time for complacency.
Don't throw your money away gambling on old stuff with ton of bagholders.
Look for fresh opportunities with no ceiling set yet and you will make a LOT of money.
Retardio.

Okay so I need to talk about whatโs happening with Yann LeCun because this is genuinely one of the wildest exits Iโve ever seen in tech.
For those who donโt knowโLeCun is one of the โgodfathers of AI.โ Not a marketing title. The man literally won the Turing Award (basically the Nobel Prize of computer science) for helping invent deep learning. Heโs been at Meta for over a decade as their Chief AI Scientist. An absolute legend.
So hereโs what happened.
Zuckerberg got frustrated. Llama wasnโt moving fast enough. The AI race was heating up and Meta felt like it was falling behind. So what does Zuck do? He drops $14 BILLION on Scale AI and hires its 28-year-old co-founder, Alexandr Wang, to run a brand new โSuperintelligence Lab.โ
And thenโand this is the part that still blows my mindโhe makes Wangโฆ LeCunโs boss.
Think about that for a second. A 65-year-old Turing Award winner. Four decades of groundbreaking research. The guy who helped BUILD this entire field. Now reporting to someone whose companyโฆ labels data. (Scale AI is impressive, donโt get me wrong, but they donโt actually build AI models. They annotate training data for other companies.)
LeCun just did an interview with the Financial Times and honestly? He chose violence.
Called Wang โyoungโ and โinexperienced.โ Said he has โno experience with research or how you practice research, how you do it. Or what would be attractive or repulsive to a researcher.โ
And then dropped this absolute gem: โYou donโt tell a researcher what to do. You certainly donโt tell a researcher like me what to do.โ
I mean. The man said what he said.
But waitโit gets better. Or worse, depending on how you look at it.
LeCun straight up confirmed that Metaโs team โfudgedโ the Llama 4 benchmark results. Like, actually manipulated them. Used different models on different tests to make the numbers look better. Remember when everyone was suspicious about those benchmarks back in April? Yeah. Turns out they were right to be.
Apparently Zuckerberg was furious when this came out internally. LeCun says he โlost confidence in everyone who was involvedโ and basically sidelined the entire GenAI team.
And hereโs the thing that really gets meโLeCun has been saying for YEARS that LLMs are a โdead end.โ That you canโt get to real intelligence just by predicting the next word. That we need โworld modelsโ that actually understand physical reality, not just language patterns.
Everyone at Meta wanted him to stop saying this publicly. Bad for the narrative, you know? But LeCun refused.
His exact words: โIโm not gonna change my mind because some dude thinks Iโm wrong. Iโm not wrong.โ
Thatโs not arrogance. Thatโs a scientist whoโs seen enough hype cycles to know when something doesnโt add up.
So now heโs out. Launching his own company called AMI LabsโAdvanced Machine Intelligence. Theyโre targeting a $3 billion valuation. Building those world models heโs been talking about. Says heโll have a โbaby versionโ ready within a year.
Oh, and apparently French President Macron personally texted him after the news dropped. LeCun wonโt say what the message said but likeโฆ the man is getting DMs from heads of state now.
I donโt know if LeCun is right about everything. Maybe LLMs will surprise us. Maybe Meta will figure it out. But when one of the three people who literally invented modern AI walks out the door saying your entire strategy is fundamentally flawed?
I donโt know man. Iโd at least ask some questions.
The AI wars just got very, very interesting

The US may establish control over Greenland in the coming months, according to Politico.
This could happen ahead of the US midterm elections in November and on the occasion of the 250th anniversary of US independence on July 4, experts and officials interviewed by the publication note. The risk is described as "real and serious".
Washington's methods are likely to differ from the Venezuelan scenario: instead of a military operation, political influence, particularly attempts to bribe local politicians, may be used.
The seizure of Greenland could seriously divide NATO and EU allies even more than the issue of supporting Ukraine. Copenhagen is unlikely to receive the same support as Kiev, experts emphasize.
