Al-Hatoum was Killed in an Israeli airstrike by an Israeli reconnaissance drone that targeted a group of people in the Al-Saftawi area, in North Gaza, on Friday afternoon after 2:00PM, according to the testimony the journalist’s father to the MADA Center. The strike led to his immediate death along with three other civilians. He was transported by ambulance to Al-Ahli Arab Hospital in Gaza City.
After his death, many media outlets referred to him as a civilian journalist.
