🗣️About the Teacher:
𝐀𝐣𝐚𝐡𝐧 𝐁𝐫𝐚𝐡𝐦𝐚̄𝐥𝐢 was born in Norway in 1964. He first became interested in Buddhism and meditation in his early 20s, while on a visit to Japan. After hearing teachings from Ajahn Brahm, he decided to travel to Australia to train at Bodhinyana Monastery where he took full ordination in 1996, with Ajahn Brahm as his preceptor.  2026 is Ajahn Brahmāli’s 30th year as a Buddhist monk.
 
Ajahn Brahmāli is renowned for his excellent knowledge of the Pali language and his enthusiasm for teaching the suttas. He is also well known as a scholar of the Vinaya—the monastic rules and procedures—which he is currently translating into Finnish. Ajahn Brahmāli’s clear and insightful talks help make the Buddha’s teachings accessible to all. He is regularly invited to conduct retreats in Australia, South-East Asia, Sri Lanka, Europe and USA.
 
Ajahn Brahmāli has also published numerous essays on important points of Dhamma, including the legitimacy of bhikkhuni ordination, of which he is a supporter. He received an honorary doctorate degree in Buddhist Studies from Maha Chulalongkorn Rajavidyalaya University in Thailand in December 2022.

🗣️𝐀𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐫:
𝐁𝐡𝐢𝐤𝐤𝐡𝐮 𝐀𝐛𝐡𝐢𝐩𝐮𝐧̃𝐧̃𝐨 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐚 is an esteemed Dhammayutika Nikāya Theravāda Buddhist monk and Dhamma teacher, widely associated with Vihāra Siddharta in Tangerang. He received full ordination in northern Thailand in 2013 under the guidance of Luangpho Khammon Jitamaro Mahāthera, Wat Ratanawanaram, Phayao Province. Bhante is the second Secretary of the Saṅgha Theravada Dhammayut Indonesia and was recently honoured with the royal title of Phrakhru Saṅgharaksa from his teacher in July 2026.
 
Bhante is well-known for his community and humanitarian efforts during his study in Myanmar and has devoted himself to the study, practice, and teaching of the Dhamma. He regularly serves as a spiritual leader, delivering Dhamma talks and guiding Buddhist activities at temples across the country. Bhante was also invited to Malaysia to share his knowledge in novitiation programmes, and to China and India for seminars and Vesak events.

🗣️About the Teacher:
𝐁𝐡𝐢𝐤𝐤𝐡𝐮𝐧𝐢 𝐀𝐲𝐲𝐚 𝐊𝐚̄𝐫𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐤𝐚̄ is currently the Abbot at Santi Forest Monastery, NSW, Australia and the spiritual director for New Zealand Bhikkhuni Sangha Trust, Hamilton. Ayya Karunika started her monastic life in 2010 and she received her full ordination as a bhikkhunī in 2014 at Dhammasara Nuns monastery in Western Australia where she lived and trained for over a decade with Ajahn Hāsapaññā. She has been a student of Ajahn Brahm and Ajahn Brahmali for over 2 decades.
 
Ayya Kārunikā is able to articulate the Buddhist teachings in a way that is practical and comprehensible to people of all ages and has experience in conducting retreats for both adults and youth. While she has a PhD in Microbiology and worked as a scientist, she has also been the building project manager for the construction of the Dhammasara Nuns Monastery main building complex and has worked with many volunteers over the years. Ayya Kārunikā was born in Sri Lanka but has been living and working in Australia for over 2 decades.
 
She has a passion to share her experience and knowledge and loves working with people and also doing creative projects. She is dedicated to supporting the growth of Bhikkhunis around the world and is currently involved in projects to support the establishment of places for Bhikkhunis in Theravada forest tradition in Australia, New Zealand, Poland and Sri Lanka.
