In chapter 83 of his 2021 memoir The Setup, Dan Bilzerian describes meeting Mel Gibson:

“Mel had been roasted in the media for popping off to some cop
about Jews, and everyone went crazy. I’m part Jewish, and it didn’t
bother me.”

I tracked down a PDF of the book to verify. It’s definitely in there.

“When office and wealth become the gods of a people, and the most unworthy and unfit most aspire to the former, and fraud becomes the highway to the latter, the land will reek with falsehood and sweat lies and chicane. When the offices are open to all, merit and stern integrity and the dignity of unsullied honor will attain them only rarely and by accident. To be able to serve the country well, will cease to be a reason why the great and wise and learned should be selected to render service. Other qualifications, less honorable, will be more available.”

A striking local account from Ladbergen, a rural village in historic Westphalia in northwestern Germany, describing the devastating hailstorm of June 9, 1844, in which crops were destroyed, windows shattered, birds fell dead beneath the trees, and survivors recalled believing “this was the end of the world.” The following pages then transition into the broader upheavals of 1848 as revolutionary unrest spread through parts of rural German society.

The orange circles are identical in size, but the surrounding circles alter how the brain perceives them. This visual phenomenon is known as the Ebbinghaus illusion and demonstrates how context influences human perception.

For the best analysis of the current dissident shit show that is the Dan Bilzarian electoral campaign, check out JudgeSmoreCult’s channel. I don’t have the heart to weigh in on it. The whole thing is bizarre and I don’t find anyone involved in the affair particularly sympathetic so I’ve decided to remain aloof.
